Hi Benny + Jo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Benny + Jo Candle Co. was born on a relaxing vacation at Lake Norman, North Carolina. While enjoying the peaceful views and burning through one of our favorite candles, we started thinking, what if we could reuse these jars and create something of our own?We’ve been hand-pouring candles with purpose ever since, focusing on reusable vessels and recycled materials.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a candle business is a lot of trial and error. From testing different waxes and wicks to finding scents, it’s definitely been a learning curve. With choosing our vessels we wanted something that looked nice but aligned with our mission with being reusable or recycled.
