Our story began in 2020 at a juvenile court, working together remotely during the pandemic. While passionate about supporting youth in the justice system, we often dreamed of escaping the 9-to-5 grind. By mid-2021, when we returned to the office, those dreams turned into action.
At first, we planned to launch a mobile bar. But after weeks of research, Brittany had a spark: “What if we started a virtual assistant company to fund our dream?” The idea resonated, and in April 2022, we began meeting at the library every Saturday to plan. Just a month later, we officially launched A2B Virtual Associates in May 2022.
A2B was born from a shared mission: to help business owners thrive by handling the time-consuming tasks that hold them back. We offer administrative support, social media management, and financial services, freeing our clients to focus on what matters most.
Our approach is built on integrity, innovation, and community-building. We’re not just service providers—we’re partners invested in our clients’ growth. Every business, no matter how small, plays a role in strengthening the community, and we are committed to helping them thrive.
Our journey from coworkers to co-founders has been both challenging and rewarding. What started as a pivot from a mobile bar idea has grown into something far greater. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Entrepreneurship has been a challenging but rewarding journey, especially in a relatively uncommon industry like virtual assistance. When we started A2B Virtual Associates, we had to learn how to do everything ourselves—business registration, marketing, client management, financial planning—you name it. We faced a steep learning curve, figuring out how to compete with foreign virtual assistants who can charge much less, all while staying true to our value of providing personalized, high-quality service that’s also affordable.
One of the biggest challenges has been managing rapid growth. As demand for our services increased, we had to balance scaling the business with our personal lives, other aspirations, and even full-time jobs. It was a constant juggling act, especially in the early days when every client had different needs, processes, and expectations.
Virtual assistants often take on the behind-the-scenes work that business owners don’t have time for, and that can come with its own set of challenges. We’ve had to learn how to set boundaries, manage client expectations, and adapt to each client’s unique workflows while keeping everything running smoothly. The emotional labor of supporting multiple businesses—essentially being the people who make everything “just work”—can be draining.
Despite these hurdles, we’ve grown stronger and more resilient. Every challenge has taught us new skills and pushed us to innovate. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and how we’ve built a business that reflects our values, even through the ups and downs.
