Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Jackson.
Hi Andrea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Lilly and Jayde was born from Love, resilience and a shared dream between three generations of women in my family. When my mother was diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer in 2019. We were devastated, in disbelief, since her mother and grandmothers ranged from 99 to well over the age of 108 years old when they passed away.
My mother, felt defeated, and I wanted to give her something to look forward to on a daily basis. Something filled with purpose, joy and beauty. I asked her, What have you always dreamed of? without hesitation, she said. with a huge smile, “I’ve always wanted to open an antique store.”
That moment, became the beginning of our Story. Together, we began to build something meaningful. A cozy, welcoming boutique filled with everchanging pieces. I named the shop Lilly and Jayde after my mother (Lilly) and grand daughter (Aryanna Jayde). A tribute to where we come from and where we are going. Lilly and Jayde isn’t just a Home Decor Boutique, It’s a Place born from Hope, legacy and love.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening a retail shop came with some very real challenges. Especially, because I started with almost no resources. I didn’t have funding or a Retail background. What I did have was a dream that needed to be fulfilled, I was determined to make Mommas dream a reality before she passed on. That meant doing everything piece by piece, from building the retail counter , painting the walls and building the brick wall. I sourced inventory carefully, within a very limited budget and continue to learn each aspect of running a boutique on my own from marketing to day to day operations.
There were many times when It feels overwhelming. I am now a one woman show! What keeps me going, Is fulfilling mommas dream.

Lilly and Jayde is a Home and Garden Decor Boutique. We have accessories for the home and Garden. We have indoor plants as well as seasonal plants. I run the boutique on my own.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Philadelphia, I was quiet, creative, a daydreamer and a curious kid. I loved nature, rocks, and drawing. I was the one picking flowers from the flower beds and occasionally would get yelled out from the residents. My mom would take me shopping to help choose furniture/accessories. I often cut out pictures from magazines and created what is now called “mood boards”.
