Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Jennings.
Hi Victoria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been passionate about the beauty industry for as long as I can remember. Growing up before streaming services, you had to be in front of the TV at just the right time to catch your favorite shows, and mine were America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway. I was fascinated by the transformations that happened in hair and makeup and the confidence they inspired. Outside of television, some of my favorite memories were going to the salon with my mom and watching stylists create beautiful results while building relationships with their clients.
That passion led me to enroll in cosmetology school during my junior year of high school, and I graduated with my cosmetology license before finishing high school. While I went on to attend college and begin a corporate career, I never let go of my dream of working in the beauty industry. I continued building my clientele, and eventually that journey led me to open my own salon.
Owning a salon taught me invaluable lessons about entrepreneurship, leadership, and the beauty industry as a whole. Although I ultimately realized that salon ownership wasn’t the long-term path I wanted to pursue, it deepened my appreciation for the business side of beauty and reinforced my passion for helping people feel confident through my work.
Today, I continue to serve clients behind the chair while embracing opportunities to grow professionally within the industry. I’m excited to keep evolving my career in ways that allow me to combine my love for beauty, lifelong learning, and helping others.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped me grow.
The beauty industry is incredibly competitive, and as an introvert, one of my biggest challenges was learning to step outside of my comfort zone. Building relationships, networking, and consistently putting myself out there didn’t always come naturally, but those experiences helped me become more confident as both a stylist and a business owner.
Like many entrepreneurs, there were seasons when I worked long hours including 12-hour days and weekends to build my clientele and establish my business. It required a great deal of dedication, patience, and persistence.
One of the biggest challenges came when I opened my salon just two weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic. Navigating a brand-new business during such an uncertain time tested me in ways I never expected. While it wasn’t easy, it taught me the importance of adaptability, resilience, and finding creative ways to keep moving forward.
Looking back, I’m grateful for those experiences because they’ve shaped not only the professional, I am today but also the perspective I bring to everything I do.
As you know, we’re big fans of Blossom 2 Beauty. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Blossom 2 Beauty is built on the belief that healthy hair starts with education. While I provide a variety of natural hair services including loc maintenance, retwists, flat twists, two-strand twists, protective styling, and healthy hair care I strive to give my clients more than just a hairstyle. My goal is to ensure they leave each appointment feeling confident and equipped with the knowledge to care for their hair between visits.
I take time to educate my clients on topics such as product selection, building healthy hair routines, and understanding how everyday styling choices can impact the long-term health of their hair. I believe informed clients are empowered clients, and that education is just as important as the service itself.
What sets Blossom 2 Beauty apart is the experience. I want every client to feel heard, respected, and cared for from the moment they sit in my chair. My appointments are designed to be collaborative, allowing clients to ask questions, learn about their hair, and leave with a style that supports both their goals and the overall health of their hair.
One thing I’m especially proud of is that my brand has evolved beyond simply creating beautiful hairstyles. It has become a space where beauty, education, and empowerment come together. As Blossom 2 Beauty continues to grow, I look forward to expanding the ways I can share knowledge and support others within the beauty industry while remaining committed to helping every client look and feel their best.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I would say my commitment to continuous learning has been one of the biggest contributors to my success. The beauty industry is always evolving, and I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills and better serve my clients. I believe that staying curious and committed to growth allows me to provide the best experience possible.
