Hidden Gems: Meet Tori Hvizda of TFIT Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Hvizda.

Hi Tori, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been an athlete my entire life. I grew up playing sports and spent most of my life playing lacrosse, which taught me discipline, resilience, and the power of showing up for yourself and your team. Being active was always part of who I was, but my true appreciation for strength started at home. My mom was always into lifting, and watching her prioritize strength showed me early on that being strong isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about confidence, independence, and longevity.

About six years ago, I turned that passion into a career and began personal training. What started as a love for fitness quickly became a deeper purpose: helping women feel strong not only physically, but mentally. Over time, I saw how transformative strength training could be for women! How it changed the way they carried themselves, spoke about themselves, and showed up in their lives.

Two years ago, I opened TFIT Studio to create the space I always wished existed, an all-women’s gym that prioritizes strength, community, and empowerment over comparison and pressure. TFIT Studio isn’t just about workouts; it’s about building confidence, creating a supportive environment, and reminding women how powerful they truly are. Watching this community grow has been the most rewarding part of my journey, and it continues to fuel everything I do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most things worth building, there have been plenty of challenges along the way. One of the biggest obstacles was taking the leap from personal trainer to business owner, learning how to run a business, manage finances, market myself, and make tough decisions, all while still showing up fully for my clients.

Opening TFIT Studio came with its own set of challenges. Building a studio from the ground up required a lot of risk, long hours, and trusting myself even when things felt uncertain. There were moments of self-doubt, growing pains, and times where I had to learn lessons the hard way. As a woman-owned business, I also had to learn how to confidently stand my ground, value my work, and set boundaries, and something that doesn’t always come easily.

That said, every challenge pushed me to grow. Each obstacle helped shape TFIT Studio into what it is today and reinforced why I started in the first place. Those experiences made me a stronger leader, coach, and business owner, and they continue to drive the culture of resilience and confidence that TFIT Studio is built on.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
TFIT Studio is an all-women’s strength and conditioning gym built to help women feel strong, confident, and empowered in their bodies and lives. We specialize in strength training, functional fitness, and high-intensity conditioning, with a strong emphasis on proper form, progressive overload, and long-term results. Our programs are designed to support women at every stage! whether they’re new to lifting or experienced athletes looking to push themselves further.

What truly sets TFIT Studio apart is our culture. We prioritize education, consistency, and community over quick fixes or unrealistic expectations. Our studio is a space where women are encouraged to lift heavy, challenge themselves, and take up space without comparison, intimidation, or pressure. Every class is intentionally coached, and every woman is supported and seen.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the community we’ve built. TFIT Studio isn’t just a place to work out, it’s a place where women build confidence, form genuine connections, and realize how strong they actually are, both inside and outside the gym. The energy, accountability, and support within the studio is something truly special.

I want readers to know that TFIT Studio is about more than fitness. It’s about teaching women the value of strength, physically, mentally, and emotionally and creating a space where they feel empowered to show up fully for themselves. Our offerings include small group strength training, 1 on 1 training, specialty events, and community-focused experiences, all rooted in the belief that strong women change their own lives first.

We are currently offering a new client introductory deal for women ready to begin their strength journey with TFIT Studio!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I don’t see myself as a reckless risk-taker, but I do believe in taking intentional risks when they align with your values and long-term vision. For me, risk has always been about betting on myself, even when there were no guarantees.

One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was opening TFIT Studio. Leaving the comfort of personal training to invest in my own space, sign a lease, purchase equipment, and build a brand from the ground up was a huge leap. There was uncertainty, financial pressure, and plenty of moments where fear crept in. But I knew that if I wanted to create the kind of environment I believed women deserved, I had to take that chance.

My approach to risk is rooted in preparation and trust. I don’t make impulsive decisions! I educate myself, put in the work, and then commit fully. Once I decide to take a risk, I show up consistently and stay adaptable. I’ve learned that growth often lives on the other side of discomfort, and avoiding risk can sometimes be riskier than trying and failing.

Ultimately, every meaningful step in my career has required some level of risk, and each one has helped shape both TFIT Studio and who I am as a leader. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that when you lead with purpose and stay committed, taking risks can be one of the most rewarding decisions you make!
