Today we’d like to introduce you to Theresa Kehrer.
Hi Theresa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always enjoyed going to garage sales, flea markets, and thrift stores to find unique items to decorate with. Over the years, I acquired a lot, and my husband wanted his family room back, so I went to the local Antique Mall, and they just happened to have a booth open up. And so, the fun began! I have since opened up another booth at a local consignment home interior store for my newer home decor and furniture items and a Showcase for my jewelry and other high-dollar items at the antique mall. I also attend several events throughout the year and promote my booths and social media pages. I love butterflies and have incorporated them into my items. I love to see people smile and happy, especially when I tell them a price for an item. I’m currently transitioning my booth at the consignment home interior store to all Made in the USA items. I have several small businesses throughout the USA that I’m buying from and have their information with their products. The feedback has been amazing, and the products are high quality! I’m always excited to see where my new adventures take me, and love my road trips to discover more unique items!!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Pricing items has always been hard; even with all the resources out there; I found that listening and engaging with my customers have been the most helpful in pricing. Biggest struggle is not having enough time to complete what I’d like to accomplish.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve been told I’m a social butterfly and absolutely love engaging with my customers. I enjoy noticing something they’re wearing and suggesting an item I have like it, and asking them if there’s anything special they’re looking for. I have found that stickers are great for drawing customers in, and they notice my other items. I love Butterflies and have incorporated that into my business logo, and enjoy finding butterfly products to sell. I sell a wide variety of items from antiques, vintage, retro, new, jewelry, one-of-a-kind handmade items, clothing, shoes, tools, furniture, home decor, local artists art and crafts, baskets, and more; as I always say, “There’s something for everyone!” My prices and customer service sets me apart. During events and while I’m at my booths, I’m engaging with customers, even those walking by, and than them coming in and purchasing something or taking a business card. I’m really excited about all the Made in the USA products I carry from a variety of small businesses throughout the USA. I have a booth #247 and a showcase #6 at the Maumee Antique Mall 1552 Reynolds Rd Maumee, Ohio 43537 Hours Mon-Sat 10:00 am – 7:00 pm and Sun 11:00-6:00 pm and a booth at Consign-It Home Interiors 6925 W.
