

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheena Cloninger.
Hi Sheena, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi, I’m Sheena. I started JG promotions in 2018 as a way to have some adult time out of the house. I was a stay at home mom at the time and looking for craft shows I could get into as a vendor. Seeing how limited they were at the time in my area, I decided to start my own company. As a recovering addict I wanted to be sure that my company was as honest and affordable for small business owners as it could be and one of my main goals when starting this was to pick a nonprofit organization for each of my events that we would raise funds for with a 50-50 and raffles. I saw this as an amazing opportunity to give back to the community. We are in our seventh year this year and continue to grow. I started this company with 20 vendors at a Masonic Lodge in Wadsworth and we now rent out three different fairground arenas throughout the year. I did this all on my own until 2024 when I brought on two of my vendors to help me on the administrative end. Jackie and Ali have been a huge part of JGs growth! We continue to grow and find new venues and new opportunities for local small businesses to showcase their skills and products. I worked extremely hard to get this business to where it is and continue to work hard every day to help it grow.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has been a rocky road. Not only did we have to stop all business for months during Covid but we constantly battle the economy, inflation, and an oversaturation of events. In the last few years more and more people have decided to throw their own events.
We’ve been impressed with JG Promotions Inc , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
JG Promotions is a craft and vendor event coordinator in Northeast Ohio. We specialize in fundraising and events. We try to keep all of our events at an affordable rate so that small businesses have an opportunity to get their product into the peoples hands. We stand out with our community vibe as well as our desire to advertise as much as we can. I am most proud of the fact that I started this from nothing. I’ve grown as a person and as a company. I’ve never hidden the fact that I am in recovery and I think that helps me stay honest and fair as well as continue to work hard.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Family matters to me more than anything as well as being completely transparent in all of my business practices. The vendors are what make my business and without them I would not have one and JG Promotions would not exist.
