Caswell Real Estate is husband-wife duo Ryan & Mary Scheutzow. Specializing in single-family, investment, and land properties in Central Ohio, Ryan & Mary bring over 30 years of combined experience to their clients. Having worked in many fields – technology, business, construction, logistics, accounting, and manufacturing to name a few – they bring their most important lesson learned to their clients: people matter. Licensed Realtors in the state of Ohio, they work hard to ensure clients have the best possible experience when buying or selling a property. Their goal is to work to prevent and solve problems as smoothly as possible, making the process more enjoyable and less stressful.
We got started in real estate as it combined our love for helping people with our entrepreneurial spirit and application of everything we learned in our other careers and business. Previously, we owned a manufacturing company that was closely related to new construction, so it got us interested in real estate. We also own 7 rental properties and an Airbnb and love both of those concepts to provide people places to live long term and places to visit short term.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road is never smooth, but that’s what makes you grow and evolve. In real estate, you are constantly learning as things are constantly changing due to many factors. When you work for yourself, the biggest struggle is probably developing good systems and routines, as there is no one to keep you accountable but yourself. As soon as you get comfortable and think, “We’ve got this figured out,” you encounter a new obstacle or situation that makes you feel very unsure or inadequate, but you keep going. We have found it very important to surround ourselves with people who are on our same journey or have gone before us.

Caswell Real Estate was started as an independent real estate agency by veteran agents Ryan & Mary Scheutzow. Perseverance and consistency. When you boil it down, success is quite boring – it’s doing the same thing again and again until you are a master at it, and your “success” is perceived as being easy. We strive daily to never give up and to persevere in our goals.
