Hi Nikki, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started rather unexpectedly. An old friend invited me to officiate her wedding — something I had never done before in my life. I had no idea what to expect, but the experience completely lit me up! I realized not only how much fun I was having, but also how deeply meaningful it felt to be part of such a sacred moment!

After that, I received tons of encouragement from friends who saw something in me before I even saw it in myself. That’s when I decided to turn this new passion into a business and founded Weddings on the Run! I began advertising online, created my website, and started connecting with couples who were looking for a more personal, heartfelt approach to getting married.

Over time, I secured my own space to host weddings, started attending bridal expos, walked through the bridal district to promote my services, and even hired a business coach to help me scale my vision. Now, my company name is becoming more recognized, my online following continues to grow, and I’ve even added a marketing team to keep up with the momentum. It’s been rewarding, unpredictable, sometimes inconsistent — but always an adventure. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but I’ve learned that the road is what you make it. Entrepreneurship is unpredictable; one day can be incredibly profitable, and the next can be quiet. That’s the reality of building something from the ground up.

The key for me has been learning to ride both the highs and the lows with grace. Challenges will always come — it’s not a matter of if, but when. The only true control we have is over our mindset. I’ve learned to embrace uncertainty with faith and to use every obstacle as a lesson in resilience, creativity, and gratitude.

Weddings on the Run was born from a desire to create intimate, meaningful ceremonies without all the stress and hours of traditional weddings. Today’s couples are busier than ever — many want something heartfelt, beautiful, and memorable, but without the long, drawn-out process.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that love wears many faces; and all of them are beautiful. Every couple’s story is unique, and it’s taught me that love doesn’t have one definition. It can be quiet or loud, simple or grand, but when it’s real, it’s always sacred.

I’ve also learned deep gratitude through hearing people’s life stories. Listening to their triumphs, their losses, and their hopes reminds me daily that love, in all its forms, is what truly connects us.
