Hi Nicholas, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing hot peppers and making hot sauce for myself has been a hobby for the last 8+ years. After talking with friends, the decision was made to turn a hobby into a business. All the licensing, certifications and proper paperwork was obtained between November 2023 and April 2024. After producing enough inventory, we began doing farmers markets and other events in June.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has been plenty of bumps in the road. The whole process of getting hot sauce, or any acidified food ready for resale and finding quality ingredients were the biggest struggles. Still working through the learning curve of picking venues that fit us and our products well.

As you know, we’re big fans of Lickety Nick’s LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in producing handmade, small batch hot sauce, taking pride in using fresh ingredients anywhere possible. Every sauce is produced from our original recipes and made on a small scale. The freshness and consistency of our sauces sets us apart from most other brands. We’re proudest of our newest sauce “Reapers Thai Tsunami” made with Carolina Reapers, fish sauce, garlic, ginger and Thai basil. It’s unique and the feedback has been great. We cover the globe with our sauce selection. Carribean Jerk, roasted tomatillo & jalapeño Verde, roasted garlic & habanero and banana pepper with new things always in the works. There are some seasoning blends in our offerings. “No mess” hot honey stands out from the others. Its granulated honey mixed with hot pepper powder, delivering the flavor of a traditional hot honey without the sticky mess.
