Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Hope.
Hi Megan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Almost five years ago, my life seemingly ended and began simultaneously. My Professional Ballroom Dance career ended shortly after my son Eli was born with a metabolic disorder called NKH. His prognosis was labeled “terminally ill.” I became consumed with advocating, organizing, and my faith. During the first year of his life, I learned how to balance being a full-time caretaker with finding a new passion that I could turn into a career. The journey has been long and lonely. But I have realized now that I would have never been able to serve people at my full capacity if life as I knew it had not ended. Now I reach thousands online with my son’s incredible and miraculous testimony. I teach women how to get further ahead in life amid their valleys. This is done by coaching my clients through limiting beliefs while helping them effectively market their businesses or start a new online business altogether. How do I do this? My whole life, I was preparing for this and didn’t even know it. I went to Ohio University for my Communications Degree and found myself in various situations where I was marketing for a Fortune 500 company during my dance career. I learned how to build websites, write books, and communicate effectively. For over 15 years, I have been studying marketing, business, and technology. But my favorite aspect of my career is the lives I get to be a part of transforming. My son was not supposed to live past the first year of his life and he is almost five now. In the last five years, I have built a business that sustains my family. I have learned not to make excuses (even though I had them) and never give up. That is why I am able to help people grow their businesses despite their trying circumstances.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Outside of being a mom to a special needs kiddo, one of my greatest struggles was learning how to effectively market for any business. Everyone seems to be offering the latest and greatest marketing strategy for their specific niche. I would have high hopes for every downloadable pdf. or master class I attended but always left feeling frustrated. It seemed like I would only be given a small piece to a giant puzzle. After years of research and experience, I decided to solve this problem for others. So, I created a full training guide in E-book form. Shhhh… Voyage Ohio is the first to find out about this. This E-book is designed to walk beginners and more seasoned personals through an education system likened to k-12 and receiving a bachelor’s education in business marketing. The greatest thing about this book is throughout it addresses mental health and various life trials that would hold you back from running a successful business. It is not another boring marketing guide that leaves you asking more questions. My readers will find it fulfilling their personal and business life questions.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My favorite question is, do you have any advice for those who are just starting out as entrepreneurs? And I do. I wish I would have known when I started out that it would never be my skills or talents that kept me going and led me to success. The two characteristics you need to be successful as an entrepreneur is patience and perseverance. I have witnessed with my own eyes burnout and failure for so many incredibly talented people. Most of them got frustrated that success wasn’t happening as fast as they wanted it to (lack of patience) or lost sight of their vision (lack of perseverance). I am so glad that I have walked through something most people will never have to face with my son’s diagnosis. Not only have I walked through that fire and I have come out of it victorious in so many ways. But my son has taught me what true resilience and determination look like. If he can fight for his life and keep it, I can fight for my dreams and keep them. My dreams might look a little different than I envisioned but, in my case, different is better. My advice simply put, “Just Keep Going.”
