Hi Joy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
While I was young, my family started an at-home daycare center when my parents feared placing their children in daycare centers. With my mother’s name being Joy as well, they named the at-home daycare center: Life’s Little Joys. My family operated our center for 10 years. Childcare has been a part of who I am before I began gaining experience myself. My experience began at a tender age through caring for children within my family. Continuing my family’s legacy is such an honor for me that Life’s Little Joys Childcare Services was created. 

Throughout my adolescent years, college years, and adulthood, I continued to work with children gaining 10 years of experience with a variety of ages. I have assisted with improving work ethic, catered to emotional growth, became a support system, ensured children had a blast while in my care, and the list goes on! During this time, I noticed a passion and connection to assisting families with the growth of their youth! 

While continuing with my passion throughout the years, I noticed a gap in babysitting services. So many children were able to use their tablet and watch tv but not play basic games that I engaged in when younger. With this thought in mind, Life’s Little Joys became a vision that God, consistency, and passion continues to lead into a growing reality. Life’s Little Joys Childcare Services has grown into what it is today through continued prayer, leaving families happier than we found them, and a genuine love for what we do! 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Growing Life’s Little Joys Childcare Services has been a rewarding journey but not a smooth road! One major obstacle has been a lack of consistent mentorship within the babysitting business. With proper guidance, many oversights could have been prevented. Another obstacle continues to be the perfecting of marketing. Trends are changing all the time on social media, selecting the trends that are fun AND appropriate for my company can become a challenge.

Life’s Little Joys Childcare Services provides reliable support to families by offering children safe, structured, and fun care in the comfort of their homes. Life’s Little Joys offers two packages, Artsy and Study-Buddy Package. With the Artsy Package, varies enrichment activities are brought to the home that are of interest to the child(ren). With the Study-Buddy Package, academic assistance is provided. We specialize in ensuring children are engaged while in our care with limited technology usage. 

As discussed above, our structure in our babysitting style continues to set us apart. With Life’s Little Joys Childcare Services, your child’s social skills will continue to foster through different activities such as Uno, memory games, playing “The Floor is Lava”, and etc. With Life’s Little Joys Childcare Services, academic skills will grow in whichever field the family desires through homework help, reading, etc. Our services are grounded in the strong desire of creating spaces for children to grow into leaders of tomorrow with countless possibilities. We aim to remove as much “Mommy-guilt” or “Daddy-guilt” as possible as parents can trust that their little joys are safe and having a joyous and productive time in their absence.

All of our Child Caregivers are background checked, CPR Trained, reference checked, drug tested, and undergoes training within the company which emphasis the importance and nonnegotiable of clients’ confidentiality.
