Hi Jessica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It’s incredible to reflect on the journey now that GPD Creative Agency is celebrating 10 years in business. When I founded the agency, it started as a bold vision to bridge the gap between creativity and purpose, particularly for small businesses, nonprofits, and government entities that deserved compelling, mission-aligned branding but often lacked the access or resources. What began as a passion project has evolved into an audio and visual marketing agency that has impacted hundreds of organizations locally and nationally.

Over the years, we’ve grown beyond just design. GPD has become known for crafting meaningful and memorable digital spaces, and helping clients own their voice in a crowded digital world. I’m incredibly proud of the strategic partnerships we’ve developed, especially with entities like the Cincinnati Minority Business Assistance Center and initiatives like Revive Black Cincy, which align with our pillars of sustainability and social justice.

At the heart of our growth is the belief that storytelling is a superpower, and we use it to drive impact. Today, we’re innovating at the intersection of design and confidence-based AI training, helping our clients stay competitive in the future of branding and digital technology. What’s kept us going is staying rooted in our “why” while remaining agile enough to meet the evolving needs of the digital age.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has had its share of twists and turns, but those challenges have helped shape both my leadership and the evolution of GPD Creative Agency.

One of the most defining moments of my journey was surviving a brain aneurysm. That experience completely reshaped how I view time, energy, and purpose. It pushed me to lead more intentionally, both in my business and in life. As the agency grew, I also had to navigate the realities of scaling with a small, dedicated team, balancing demand, delivering excellence, and protecting our bandwidth without losing momentum.

There were growing pains, of course — figuring out how to manage client expectations, set clear boundaries, and maintain creative excellence while still running the business side of things. Being a Black woman in the marketing and tech space added an extra layer of challenge, especially when entering rooms where I wasn’t always expected — but I’ve learned to let results speak for themselves.

What’s kept us grounded through it all is integrity. Every decision we make, every project we take on, is rooted in alignment with our values. That’s how we’ve continued to grow — by staying true to who we are while being agile enough to meet what’s next.

We’ve been impressed with GPD Creative Agency, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
GPD Creative Agency is an audio and visual marketing agency rooted in strategy, storytelling, and results. We help entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and government organizations build cohesive brands and digital experiences that inform, inspire, and convert. What was your favorite childhood memory?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are the simplest — playing card games with my dad or tackling a massive jigsaw puzzle with my mom. Those moments were more than just fun; they were filled with laughter, learning, and love. I grew up in a household that nurtured my dreams, grounded me in faith, and instilled a deep respect for others, truth, and integrity.

Looking back, I realize how much those values shaped the woman and business leader I am today. They continue to guide the way I show up in my work, in my family, and in my community. It’s the kind of legacy I hope to pass on — not just through words, but through how I live and lead.
