Hidden Gems: Meet Emily Giglio of ShopEndlessJune

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Giglio.

Emily Giglio

Hi Emily, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
ShopEndlessJune started during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was going into my second year of college at the time, and stuck in quarantine, I ended up purchasing my first sewing machine. From there, I learned how to sew and really started to enjoy it. As time went on, I saw a lot of other businesses at the time posting about embroidery and I instantly knew that it was something I wanted to try and do. I ordered my first Brother PE-770 embroidery machine, got my business license, and started posting on social media. With the help of family and friends, word got out about my business, and I started to gain followers and have interactions on my socials.

A few months into my business journey, I started reaching out to influencers, especially those on TikTok and YouTube, who posted “hauls” of their purchases or PR from brands.

I will never forget the day when my favorite YouTuber, who I had been watching for years, reached out to me and changed absolutely everything for my business. Remi Ashten, a lifestyle vlogger, saw my message to her on Instagram and allowed me to send her a PR package. From there, I was posted on her YouTube channel for all of her 2.5 million subscribers to see! When sending PR to Remi, I also sent her an embroidered sweatshirt for her best friend, Alisha Marie, who is also a YouTuber. Alisha ended up posting me to her Instagram page and tagging my business. This was another crazy milestone and still shocks me to this day how much these two ladies forever changed my business for the better.

Fast forward to today, I now have my own office space, a 10-needle embroidery machine along with my four other single-needle machines, and two storefront locations located inside The Painted Tree Boutiques in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Along with our two storefront locations, we are continuing to do local artisan markets throughout the year.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In October of 2023, my business Instagram got hacked at eleven thousand followers. This was a tough road to bounce back from, especially starting back at zero again after building up an account that took me three whole years to build. Even though this was not an ideal situation, I put all my focus into growing a new account and still trying to show up for my followers as best as I could. There were days that I wanted to quit because so many of my customers came from that account, but I just put it in God’s hands, and it ended up being one of the biggest blessings.

Starting a business is not as easy as some people may think it is. Although social media may make it seem like all of us business owners have it together, half the time, we don’t. Our highlight reels are not an accurate representation of how our business is going half the time, it’s only the part we allow our followers to see. It takes a determined and hardworking person to start up a business, and one thing I have learned on this journey is that you have to love what you do and give it the best you can every single day.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about ShopEndlessJune?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice for those just starting out would be to have fun with the journey of creating and building a business. Although at times it can seem really overwhelming, it is also so rewarding and will be one of the greatest blessings in your life.

Something I wish I knew when I was starting out was that it is okay to do things on your own time and at your own pace. It is easy to compare yourself to others who may have a similar business style, but just try and stay true to yourself and your goals for your brand, and everything will work out the way it is meant to.
