Hidden Gems: Meet Cyndrea Craig-Lawrence of So Cyn Fitness LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cyndrea Craig-Lawrence.

Hi Cyndrea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Cyndrea AKA Coach Cyn,

I am the Owner and Operator of So Cyn Fitness LLC. Throughout my lifetime I have always had a major involvement in health and wellness, but over the past five years I decided to take things to the next level, leave the legal field and make personal training my career. This decision arose when my family and I made a life changing relocation from Connecticut to Ohio, due to my husband’s amazing job opportunity with Nationwide Insurance.

The transition wasn’t just about geography it was about redefining success on my own terms. Trading legal documents for dumbbells, I followed a passion for health and wellness, becoming a NASM certified personal trainer. This career shift allowed me to connect more deeply with people, helping them transform their lives physically and mentally. What began as a personal lifestyle choice quickly grew into a professional mission: to empower others through movement, mindset, and sustainable wellness.

Over the last five years I have helped so many different people and I hope to continue to help many more in the years to come. I aspire to become Ohio’s premier personal training brand, known for transforming lives through elite, personalized fitness experiences. I envision building a thriving community of high achieving clients who are empowered, confident, and committed to long term wellness. As I continue to grow, my focus remains on delivering exceptional service, expanding my reach, and setting the standard for professionalism, integrity, and results in the fitness industry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The transition from the legal field to the fitness industry was anything but smooth, but honestly I would not change any part of it for the world. Leaving behind a stable and respectful career in the legal field came with uncertainty, self doubt, and a steep learning curve. I had to rebuild my professional identity from the ground up, gaining new certifications, building a client base, and learning the business side of fitness. All while navigating the emotional challenges of a new state and stepping away from what I once thought was my forever path. But through every obstacle, I discovered resilience, passion, and a deeper sense of purpose. The journey tested me, but it also transformed me, proving that growth lives outside your comfort zone.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about So Cyn Fitness LLC?
So Cyn Fitness LLC is an African American women owned small business providing personal training services in central Ohio. Being a certified personal trainer I take the objection and fear out of personal training by offering clients options on how, where and when they can train. This is done by offering online training, traveling in person training, and group training. Given clients these options makes me authentic and sets me apart from others in my industry. Leaving clients with no hesitation on training and achieving their goals.

Some aspects that I am proud of are my client transitions and success stories. Those aspects are real lasting lifestyle changes. Also the empowerment and mental strength my clients obtain throughout their journey is incredible. Which allows me to build amazing relationships and build in my community.

I’d like everyone to know that it is never too late to start your journey to better your life style. You can start at whatever level or phase of your life you are currently in. ” No need to wait till tomorrow.” Do GREAT! Be GREAT! GREATNESS!!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is riding my bike around the neighborhood in the summertime until the street lights came on. The weather was warm and people were in their yards. Whether mowing the lawn or barbecuing. We did not have cell phones and video games. We just enjoyed ourselves outside and knew to return home before the street lights came on. It was our simple little paradise.
