Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As an independent, holistic skincare company, we believe that beautiful skin starts with intentional living. Our journey into business began back in 2010 after committing to better health.
As an aromatherapist and herbalist, I knew of the vast benefits of incorporating natural plant ingredients into our lifestyles and wanted to begin including quality, grass-fed meats as well.
So, we found a family-owned, local ranch offering grass-fed beef and reached out to order. The rancher asked us how much suet (or cow fat) we wanted with our order, and curious, we researched why anyone would use it. Impressed by the rich amount of nutrients and long history of use but grossed out by the prospect of rubbing cow fat on our skin, we decided the only way to know was to give it a try!
So, we rendered 25 pounds of fat into tallow, used it to make a batch of soap and a moisturizer, began using it, and saw an immediate improvement in the way our skin looked. To our surprise, it didn’t smell beefy like we thought it would, absorbed quickly, and didn’t leave a greasy feel. We were hooked!
Around the same time, our first son was born covered in red, blotchy skin, assumed to be eczema. We applied our tallow moisturizer on him and found his skin condition healed within days!
Knowing we had to tell others, we began sharing with family and friends, then selling at local markets. While it took some people a moment to get over the “yuk” factor of using cow fat on their skin, when they did, they too were hooked.
Over time, we began incorporating a variety of different herbs and essential oils into our products to add an aromatherapy experience and the power of natural remedies into the mix. As we began deepening our spiritual practice, we found that shower meditation, using our aromatherapy soaps, had the power to focus our minds and ground our energy each day.
This, too we had to share.
So, we set out to show how a daily shower routine could become a catalyst to living mindfully, with positive intention. As we did, more and more people discovered the powerful effects of living and bathing with intention as well.
So, what began as a desire to eat healthy has blossomed into a family brand that provides quality, natural skincare to support the intentional lifestyle of others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a bumpy yet educational ride! Some of the struggles we faced were learning how to break free from the “worker bee” mentality, clearly define what we offered and who we offered it to, and how to generate capital with little access.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people have no idea how strict I really am. While I can easily go with the flow in life, when it comes to our skincare products, I am about as rigid as it gets! If the moon or mood isn’t right, I’m not making products. I am very protective of the energy in the production room, knowing how powerful vibrations are in the crystalline structure of oils, fats, and water. As many customers can attest to, this energy can truly be felt while using the products, so it has to be 100% pure and positive! Don’t tell anyone…but I will even sing super loud to myself to raise my mood if I’m feeling low before I get started making products. (Anything by Whitney Houston will do.)
