Hi Yakai, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I officially opened Kaii’s Touch around May of 2022. Before Kaii’s Touch, I had a business name Glam Babe and since that business will be moving to a different location, I decided to follow my passion of doing wigs and makeup. That’s how Kaii’s Touch came to be. Originally, I never thought that I would be doing makeup and wigs, I always thought it was just for fun but after years of practice, I realized I wanted my hobby to evolve to something else. I’m so happy I took that step because right now I’m focusing on growing my clientele but it’s hard because I’m also in college.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all, I’m grateful for a lot of things but running a business is hard. Trying to figure out a name, trying to build a clientele, making sure you give the best customer service. All of those are not easy to do. One struggle I have faced is being consistent with my social media pages, I do clients’ makeup and hair but always forget to post them.
As you know, we’re big fans of Kaii’s Touch. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in wigs and makeup. I do wig installs, I also construct wigs, I do natural makeup all the way to full glam makeup. My brand has a lot to offer, if you feel like there is a service that you want but it’s not listed definitely feel free to email or dm me on Instagram. I also travel between Dayton and Columbus area so I’m not just in Columbus. I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that I know I’m not perfect at my craft, no one can ever be perfect. I’m always open to trying new makeup techniques or new lace melting techniques.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think creativity, I’m always open to trying anything creative so if a client wants something I always try my very best to execute it.
