Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydnie Luchini.
Hi Sydnie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up around Pittsburgh, PA, in a divided house situation and split my time between my mother and father’s houses – so naturally we had two of everything when it came to parties, holidays, birthdays, etc. From a young age, I loved and cherished these family gatherings and when I reflect on where my passion for planning and special occasions came from, that is immediately where my mind goes.
Fast-forward to my young adult years – I moved to Lima, OH for college where I met my now husband (who is from the Lima area). After college, I stayed here with him and we started a family. For a time, family gatherings got less frequent, and I was not able to make it home to PA as often.
During this time however, a lot of the people around us were also starting families, getting married, celebrating milestones in life, etc., and I found myself naturally getting involved with decorating, sourcing vendors, and helping any way I could – I was loving every minute of it. Not only did I love the actual planning, but I loved what it meant. When I was handling these these tasks and running the events, it meant that the host and/or guests had the time to actually live in the moment and enjoy the full experience of their occasion – they were not rushing to get showered and dressed, they were not in the kitchen instead of mingling, they weren’t too worried about the little details of the day to enjoy them, and the list goes on.
That’s when I realized that turning this passion into a business wasn’t just possible, it was what I wanted to do.
It was a long time in the making, between starting out helping our close circle of family and friends, to expanding to friends-of-friends, to building the courage to turn what I love into a business. My husband was a rockstar supporter and I eventually worked up the courage to quit my 9-5 to stay home with our kids and start the business of my dreams – and now here I am!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Getting to where I am today has naturally had it’s challenges. Once I realized starting Sydnie Hall Event Planning was what I wanted to do, I had moments where I was really excited and moments where I was nervous and felt overwhelmed.
For one, I was a mom with a full time job at the time and I was struggling between having enough time to work, take care of the house, raise and spend time with the kids, and learn how to start, run, and network a business. I am not originally from Ohio, so getting my name out into the area was a tough, slow process as well.
It is important for me to note though, that through all of my challenges, doubts, and trials, that I trusted and prayed that God was in control the whole time. I knew he would not give me more than I could handle and when I would (and still do) encounter an obstacle, I take a step back and put everything back into his hands.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My faith and my family are at the core of who I am – they matter more to me than anything else. I am proud to have grown up with strong Christian roots, and while there was a time in my young adult years when my faith wasn’t always my priority, it has been such a blessing to grow back into it. Over the years, my husband and I have grown stronger in our relationship with God, and our faith now anchors everything we do.
