Today we’d like to introduce you to Super Heroes To Kids In Ohio W Brian Chulik
Hi Super Heroes To Kids In Ohio, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In August of 2010, we started “SUPER HEROES TO KIDS IN OHIO’. Our group initially started visitations at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Ward. After member / co-founder Brian Chulik had a near death experience, and wanted to give back in a unique way after seeing kids battling tough medical adversities. Upon consulting with friends and fellow super hero fans Scott Smith and Jimmy Myers, Super Heroes To Kids In Ohio began, and has endured for over 15 years. We started our mission in order to help patients endure adversity due to health issues by dressing up as familiar costumed crusaders. Our group has continued to grow through the selflessness of people who want to contribute to the well-being of kids battling illnesses and overcoming obstacles. We were even fortunate enough to be recognized with the ‘Red Cross Real Hero Award’, honored by The Cleveland Police, and named ‘Murray Ridge Volunteer Of The Year’. We have been a fully functioning 501©3 since 2014.
We are now an organization of nearly 100 individuals. From all different walks of life, it is our organization’s goal to spread good will by (1) simple acts of kindness, (2) the recognition of individuals who have battled through adversity (3) and to encourage the involvement of ‘community’ to make a positive difference in the lives of others; especially children. With over 1,100 visits to our credit, we continue to make costumed visits and work with children’s hospitals such as The Cleveland Clinic, Akron Children’s, University Hospitals, as well as Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio. We sponsor a room at the Cleveland RMD House annually for $5,000 to help families in the Cleveland area defer the cost of lodging while here for medical treatment. Additionally, we donated $5,000 in 2024 to the Akron Ronald McDonald House to further assist families.
We have assisted many, many, many wonderful organizations over the years. We appear at various charitable events affiliated with ‘Wish Organizations’, various local hospitals, and events for benevolent causes. We try to create fun & special events for the children and families we celebrate as REAL HEROES. We try to go wherever we are needed for any special situations in an attempt to bring hope and smiles to kids & people. We are thankful that this organization has continued to gain new members who give of their time, energy, and compassion. As co-founder Jimmy Myers has stated previously, “The kids are the real heroes!”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always challenges and obstacles, but the selflessness of the volunteers has enabled us to do some AMAZING things for others; from pulling 737’s for Special Olympics, to introducing children to celebrities, to assisting families in need, to donating to benevolent causes, to surprising individuals who could use a boost, we take great pride in our mission to do small things to attempt to make the world a better place.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Our organization is made up of so many wonderful individuals; from doctors, to law enforcement, to teachers, to martial artists, to chemists, to college students. Being a superhero isn’t just about having superpowers or wearing a cape – it’s about making a positive impact in the lives of others around us. Through volunteering (whatever the method) and helping those in need, anyone can become a superhero in their own community. Whether it’s visiting children in hospitals, serving at a local food bank, or simply being a good neighbor, every act of kindness has the power to make a difference. HOPEFULLY, organizations like Super Heroes To Kids In Ohio are able to inspire other people to come together to bring joy and support to those who need it most. Every small act of kindness can add up to make a big impact, and we encourage everyone to get out into the community and change it through kindness.
