Exploring Life & Business with Samone Robinson of Samone’s Kitchen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samone Robinson

Hi Samone, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The journey of Samone’s Kitchen began with a deep love for cooking and a passion for bringing people together through the power of food. Growing up in a household where meals were the heart of every gathering, I learned early on that food was more than just nourishment—it was a way to express love, share stories, and build community. With a heart full of ambition and support from those closest to me, I decided to take the leap and start Samone’s Kitchen as a small carry-out-only restaurant. I wanted to create a space where people could enjoy delicious, homemade-style meals even when they were on the go. It wasn’t easy at first—balancing the demands of running a business while staying true to the values I held dear—but I was determined to make it work.

We started small, serving a handful of loyal customers who quickly spread the word. Soon, Samone’s Kitchen became known for its unique fusion of flavors, high-quality ingredients, and the personalized care that went into every meal.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth road for Samone’s Kitchen. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced our share of challenges and setbacks along the way. The journey to where we are today has been filled with hard work, learning experiences, and overcoming obstacles that tested our resilience. When we first started, one of the biggest challenges was simply getting the word out. As a small, carry-out-only business, we didn’t have a large advertising budget or the foot traffic that full-service restaurants might get. We relied heavily on word-of-mouth, which took time to build. There were moments in those early days when I questioned whether we would make it through. We had a great product, but without the visibility or customer base, it was difficult to get momentum. Another challenge we faced was managing the financial side of the business. Starting a restaurant requires a significant upfront investment in equipment, ingredients, and day-to-day operational costs. There were times when cash flow was tight, especially in the first year, and we had to be very careful with budgeting. Every decision, from sourcing ingredients to managing staffing, had to be made with precision to avoid overextending ourselves.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

What matters most to me is the connection that Samone’s Kitchen creates—with our customers, our community, and the people who make this business possible.
