Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Rauch.
Hi Ryan, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began working with Dr. Whitt in 2018 when CBD was emerging as a viable option for patients to treat many of the issues and ailments they deal with on a daily basis. We saw a lot of inconsistencies in the messages CBD companies put out there, and there was a lot of uncertainties from the market as far as what was good vs. bad CBD, how much and how best to utilize CBD, and many other education-based questions people had. After trying some other brands and not being completely satisfied for one reason or another, Dr. Whitt and I decided to launch our own line of CBD. We wanted to put his name on the product — Dr. Whitt’s CBD — to give trust to our patients and customers that this product was vetted by an actual doctor, and that anyone with questions could come straight to the source to get those questions answered.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As CBD was starting to gain real traction in the industry, COVID hit. Because quality CBD is not cheap to make and requires hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment to source correctly, coupled with the fact that people were losing work and spending was being limited to essentials, we had a hard time launching quickly. However, I believe that we were patient, made the CBD as accessible as possible (cutting profits, incentivizing with monthly promotions, etc.), and continued to be a source of education for people interested in CBD, we made our way through and have a dedicated and expanding customer base today.
We’ve been impressed with Diley Medical Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Diley Medical Group is a private medical practice. For many years, we focused exclusively on internal medicine. We’ve since expanded into multiple branches of the business, which include medical marijuana, cosmetic and medical injections, weight loss, and, of course, the CBD business.
I think our expertise in many areas sets us apart. A lot of patients come into the practice, and we can cross-treat someone within multiple branches of the business. Especially with the medical marijuana and CBD, people are genuinely curious but are afraid of the stigma that comes with using a cannabis product. I take a lot of pride in the education aspect of my job, as well as being able to get people off of many of the pharmaceutical medications that were never designed to be taken long-term.
The thing I would most want people to know about our brand and about our products is that they are made by good people who genuinely want the best for those taking it.
What matters most to you?
To me, the thing that matters most is that we continue to provide a quality set of products and also provide an education to how/why it’s effective. I’m very upfront about how with cannabis products, everyone metabolizes them differently and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to how best to use them. But I put my cell phone number on my business card and tell people to call or text me with any questions, whether they’re a patient, customer, or otherwise, and I’m happy to answer any questions and do whatever I can to give each person the best chance at long-term success.
