Hi Msss Pisces, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, I’m Msss Pisces from Cleveland, Ohio. First of all, I would like to say thank you all for this amazing opportunity! I’m excited to present Khronique Kreations LLC/future lifestyle brand and household name. I came up with the name in my high school 9th-grade year, along with a host of business plans & ideas to turn it into one of the largest black-owned lifestyle brands that would blow Johnson & Johnson off the map! In 2019 a close friend from high school encouraged me to pursue that dream. A spark ignited, then my brain started flooding with ideas to create my own moisturizing hair growth oil. My brain kinda floods with all of these brilliant business ideas (for myself and others) when I’m in between the rem state of sleep & kinda subconsciously awake like right before I wake up out of my sleep, is when most of my business ideas are formed (btw, I’ve also invented a new hair tool that’s been approved for a patent, that I can’t wait to share with the world). But I rolled over half asleep, checked my bank account to see how much I had to get started, it was only $35 in my checking account So I started researching packaging & ingredients, then researching every ingredient Individually to see how each would be beneficial in a healthy hair growth process, then how many bottles sizes, How much it would all cost, how much I would have enough financially to make & how much I would sell each bottle for. I was only able to afford trial sizes or the smallest bottles of every ingredient, some of the natural ingredients I was able to purchase with my EBT card & only 6 glass dropper bottles, I only Made 6 4oz bottles of the hair oil & because I had a small 1 chair braid shop area set up in my basement & clientele was beginning to pick up it was the perfect recipe for success. I sold each bottle for $25 each they all sold in 2 days. I used that money to purchase more packaging & ingredients & about 6 months later was able to create the entire Khronique Kreations Beauty Collection line which you can purchase on Etsy btw lol, I started my LLC on December 14th, 2019  & was able to go from a basement shop to a physical braid shop on October 1st, 2020, that I’m proud to announce is located in the Ohio City neighborhood where I grew up on Cleveland’s Westside in Lakeview Terrace estates, we call em West 28 projects. I come from a poverty-stricken family single Mom with six of us. I’ve always been a go-getter, a hard worker & a supporter.  I’ve been braiding & styling people’s hair since I was 14 years old, I built my clientele base & worked off my pager. Word of mouth got me recognized & my pager number was passed along to the next client who would page me to set an appointment. To this day I still style some of those clients’ hair. I’m sure this was my calling & my stamp on the world. I’ve been homeless with my children, I’ve lived some of my life in a few parts of the world, not proud to say but went to jail for Domestic Violence due to a violent alcoholic abusive ex. And everywhere I’ve been or every situation I’ve been in, being a hairstylist has never failed me, it’s always kept us fed during some of the hardest times. As a single black Mom of 5 myself with a long list of health conditions several of them being chronic, It’s truly a blessing that I’ve overcome so many obstacles physical, mental, and financial, a great deal of them stereotypical. Even though I’m still pushing my way through many obstacles in my life now. I am so happy that I’m here today still pushing my way to the top & that I can bring services and leadership to our now gentrified community.

Not just like a braid boutique, but as a local native & friendly familiar face in the neighborhood, I have plans on getting together with other businesses in the area to bring back after school programs that involve financial & business literacy and creative art & writing programs for our youth and adults, Help with Services to license & certify people for certain careers or jobs.

This is only the beginning for me helping to bring greatness to our people and communities…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t, finances have been a struggle, not enough support, pretty much doing it all on my own & having to figure everything out in this business world alone with no guidance. Also, I have a long list of health conditions and illness that’s chronic & painful 100% of the time, on top of being a single Mom with 5 children 4 in private school with Tuition & several with health conditions or illnesses of their own.

I’m am a Hairstylist & the owner of KKB/Braids Boutique by Khronique Kreations LLC. I’ve been in a Salon/Team setting, I’ve been to school, I have licenses & I am also Both Barbicide and Barbicide Covid-19 certified. Healthy Hair and Sanitation Is extremely Important To Me.

We offer a wide range of braid & style Services at our braid boutique shop. Free hair is included with our braid Services. We have free WiFi available for our customers along with free refreshments and snacks. There’s TV Music or books & magazines for entertainment while you wait or be serviced.

There’s convenient parking located in the parking lot in the back of the building. We have a nice clean environment with an artsy comfy vibe.

I created my own Line of Plant-Based Beauty Care Products {Khronique Kreations Beauty}. I use my products on my clients as well. If you like any of my products from your Khronique Kreations experience, each product is available for purchase in my Etsy shop.
