Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark & Jennifer Winter
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Mark and I met over bed bugs, I was a hotel manager and he was the exterminator that took care of our bed bug situations, hence the fact that we had icing bed bugs on our wedding cake! In 2014, we saw a need for a company in the Cincinnati and Dayton area that would specialize in bed bug extermination. So we started Bed Bug Solutions and a few years later we added in residential and commercial general pest control to our services we offered, which in turn, we created Solutions Plus Pest Control to minimize confusion that we were only able to treat bed bugs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout the years, we have expanded our business to Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, South Carolina and Montana. Just learning the different ways that each state differs on how to get a license, handles sales tax and insurance requirements has been the biggest challenge that we have faced.
As you know, we’re big fans of Bed Bug Solutions. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a small, family owned and operated business that offers residential and commercial pest control services, but we specialize in bed bug extermination. The biggest thing that sets us apart from our competitors is that we also offer prep and laundry services for bed bug treatments, hoarding cleanout and deep cleaning for all pest issues. When you have bed bugs and cockroaches, part of process is getting your home ready for a treatment. If a customer is elderly or their home is really cluttered, it can be extremely overwhelming. We have a crew that is passionate about cleaning out the clutter and infested items, deep cleaning the home, doing laundry and then setting it back up for the homeowner to come back to a clean, safe and pest-free environment to live in.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
We pride ourselves on treating our customers homes and families like they were our own and our customers appreciate that. We also are passionate about pest control and educating people on ways that they can help keep their homes pest-free.
