Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Luchka.
Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Lisa and I am the owner of City Brocante. I opened City Brocante in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio in March of 2021. I grew up around antiques, vintage, and collecting, and from a young age loved everything about home decorating. As a young child/teen I really wanted to be an interior decorator, but I chose a different path and spent many years as a social worker. I met my husband in 2007 and from the start one of our favorite things to do together was visit flea markets and thrift stores. He is a vintage toy collector so we are always hunting for different things but its fun to do together. Even our kids are little collectors. They have been flea marketing with us since birth and love the hunt as much as we do! I started selling vintage decor and collectibles online and quickly realized I really wanted to have a space of my own to sell my goods. I also enjoy rehabing furniture and thought with a shop I could easily sell larger pieces that I didn’t want to ship. Opening a store having no retail experience was a bit daunting, but I’m so glad I made the decision to do it. In March of 2022 the shop moved to Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls and being in the heart of downtown has been amazing. I love what I do, I love the community and helping people make their homes beautiful with unique sustainable items.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was challenging and still is in some ways to manage the business aspect of things. Before opening the shop, I had never really worked in retail. I am still learning and improving how I run the business every day!

City Brocante is a small vintage shop located in the heart of Cuyahoga Falls Ohio at 2214 Front Street. At City Brocante you will find an eclectic mix of vintage, antique and new goods, home decor, and collectibles. I love helping customers find the perfect pieces for their homes. I also love to upcycle and repurpose items to give them a new life and new home!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I feel very lucky to be where I am today. I’m lucky in my personal life to have family and friends who are endlessly supportive of me. I am also extremely lucky to run a business in a community where we are all so supportive of each other. Cuyahoga Falls is really a special place and many of my neighbors have become friends and mentors. I think luck really played a role in our move to front street in 2023. The original shop was only a few blocks away and when our current location became available the timing was just right. we were so lucky to get it,
