Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Schwemberger
Hi Kristina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my business in May of 2023, but before then, in 2017, I was an intern at a local photography business. I learned a lot during that time and began to move up within my roles in that small business. I became a second photographer, social media manager, and admin assistant and have been doing those roles for quite some time. After I graduated high school in 2017, I went to the University of Cincinnati and graduated in December of 2022. COVID threw quite a wrench into everyone’s plans in 2020 and I took a break from college. I am very grateful for my current support system of family, friends, and my mentor. Without them, I would not be where I am today. They have supported me through some very tough times.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road for me to start my own business. I deal with a lot of mental health challenges like anxiety and depression that affect how much I struggle on a day-to-day basis. I never let this struggle get me down though. I persevere, always. The COVID pandemic exasperated my anxiety and depression back in 2020. I struggled with self doubt when I first started my business. I had negative thoughts in my head constantly about whether I would succeed or not. Constant worry and stress about the unknown as well.
Without regular therapies, I would not be where I am today. I am very grateful for my team of mental health professionals. And like I said before my support of friends, family, and my mentor and co-workers has been so helpful.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I decided to name my business “Creatives by Kristina” not just because I have a creative eye and a passion for photography. I also do content creation and administration for small businesses such as other local photographers, videographers, and small entrepreneurs. I also dabble in creative writing, as my degree from the University of Cincinnati is in English- Creative Writing. I have a love for all things creative and didn’t want to limit myself and I wouldn’t be able to dabble in other creative outlets.
Creatives by Kristina is an all-inclusive name that allows me to do photography, writing, social media management, content creation and admin work all in one!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My perseverance and desire to continue growing is what is most important to my success.
I have felt like giving up in the past, but I did not and would not be here if I did give up. I am trying to better myself in all aspects. Personally and professionally I want to grow.
If we are not doing anything to improve ourselves, how can we expect to get better?
