Exploring Life & Business with Julia Webb of Cuff Link Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Webb.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Julia Webb’s love for photography began long before high school—at just six years old, when she received her first kid-friendly digital camera. From that moment on, every device with a lens became a tool of exploration. Whether it was a point-and-shoot or a phone, she was constantly capturing anything and everything that caught her eye. But it wasn’t until her 16th birthday—when she received her first DSLR from her parents and enrolled in digital art classes in high school—that her passion truly took flight. That pivotal combination of creative freedom and technical learning set her on a clear path toward turning photography from a hobby into a career.

Determined to pursue her calling, Julia enrolled at Kent State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Studies. Merging her two deepest passions gave her a unique perspective as both an artist and a storyteller. She graduated in 2023 with dual degrees and a drive to make her mark in the photography world.

Shortly after graduation, Julia worked for a small wedding photography company, the experience proved invaluable. She learned extensively about the wedding industry, strengthened her technical skills, and built a strong portfolio that helped pave the way for future opportunities. This was the job that confirmed her love for wedding photography and solidified her goal of pursuing it as a full-time career.

When creative roles became scarce, Julia accepted a position as a store manager to maintain financial stability—all while continuing to hone her craft and build her portfolio. During this difficult period, she came close to giving up, questioning whether her dream career was truly attainable. But the sudden and devastating loss of her younger brother, Tyler Webb, became a turning point. Tyler was an extremely hard worker who never gave up on anything and lived life to the fullest. Inspired by his resilience, determination, and zest for life, Julia made a promise to herself to honor Tyler by following his example—to live boldly, work hard, and never give up on her dreams.

That renewed drive led to a role at Ripcho Studio, where she worked as a photographer and graphic designer. During her interview, a standout image—a portrait of Tyler taken for a college photography project—resonated deeply with the team. What began as a personal tribute became the bridge to a meaningful professional opportunity. Ripcho provided a welcoming, family-like environment, and Julia gained valuable experience working with school portraits, design workflows, and professional production standards—further sharpening her skills and industry knowledge. Though she appreciated the experience, school photography wasn’t where her heart ultimately lay.

Julia’s ambitions led her to Cuff Link Media, a growing wedding photography and videography company founded by Scott Terranova under Sound Precision Entertainment. The company originated from Scott’s vision to offer bundled wedding services—photo, video, and DJ—all under one roof for a seamless and affordable experience. Since its founding eight years ago, Cuff Link Media has expanded rapidly across Northeast Ohio.

Now serving as Director of Cuff Link Media, Julia leads operations with a hands-on approach. She manages social media content, edits photos, captures weddings, supports branding initiatives, and has significantly grown the company’s freelance photography team. She is also co-hosting an upcoming wedding podcast alongside Scott and Nik O’connor titled It’s Just a Wedding Podcast, which dives into real wedding stories, industry tips, and everything in between for engaged couples and vendors alike.

From her first toy camera to directing a thriving wedding media company, Julia Webb has built a career grounded in creativity, persistence, and passion. Through every image she captures, she continues to honor her brother’s legacy—living life fully and never giving up on what truly matters.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been easy. One of the biggest challenges was simply finding a job in my chosen field. There’s truth to the phrase “starving artist”—building a stable, full-time career as a creative is undeniably difficult. For a while, I worked jobs that didn’t align with my passions, simply to make ends meet. At one point, I was juggling three jobs with no days off and very little personal time, nearly working myself into exhaustion. But despite the setbacks and sacrifices, every struggle not only brought me closer to where I was meant to be but also made me stronger. Today, I’m proud to be working full time in the photography industry while also teaching dance—exactly the life I once dreamed of building.

I am also a passionate dancer with 22 years of experience, starting at the age of three. I’ve had the honor of performing and competing at the World of Dance competition in Chicago and battling in the Red Bull Dance Your Own Styles competition. Currently, I teach street dance at Northeast Ohio Dance in Wadsworth, specializing in urban and street dance styles, while continuing to dance and refine my craft. You can call me the dancing photographer!
