Exploring Life & Business with Jessica Maloney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Maloney.

Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Growing up in the backseat of my Mother’s car with scattered MLS maps, magazines, and printouts a spark was ignited. I loved watching her help people find the home of their dreams. As a teen, I aspired to be an interior designer, my passion for reinventing space provided to me in our basement as a pseudo apartment whenever possible with up-cycled items found around the house or at auctions/estate sales.

Worked alongside my Mother for years helping with marketing pieces and analyzing stats while pursuing a career and family outside the realm of real estate but it continued to call my name. Licensed in 2010 with two young daughters, initially seeking freedom and flexibility outside the 9-5 world. Very quickly, my young spark was reignited.

I found myself more than willing to go the extra mile for clients, in marketing (I had written for an online newspaper while the girls were very young) providing beyond-write-ups, and as social media became front and center, passionate about the promotion and making connections with other Realtors and prospective clients.

Years later, I am still excited every single day to be a Realtor, assisting clients in buying and selling is a large part of what gets me up in the morning. I feel so blessed and happy to continue pursuing a career I truly love.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every single day as a Realtor is a challenge. The market has changed multiple times since I was licensed in 2010, we always have to be ready to roll with the punches whether it is a last-minute schedule change or the shift in the entire climate of our market, the ability to pivot is key.

While flexibility is often the motivation behind the career choice of a Realtor, the last two years have allowed for little flexibility. With homes entering the market at noon and going under contract by 4 pm, the mad dash to provide clients with an opportunity to view homes was extraordinarily challenging.

As you know, we’re big fans of RE/MAX Victory + Affiliates. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
With a decade-plus of experience as a Miami Valley Realtor, I have hands-on insight into our local market firsthand. From the definitive buyer markets of the early 2010s to the drastic shift into the current clear-cut seller markets of the last few years I am excited to pivot with the incoming market shift.

With hundreds of pleased clients scattered from Cincinnati to Troy and everywhere in between, my area knowledge stretches far and wide. Consistently a member of the exclusive RE/MAX 100% Club, I am well known for handling clients with expertise.

Specializing in relocation services and first-time homebuyers, attention to detail, ease of communication, and accessibility make purchasing a home seamless and fun. With a passion for a design featuring a vintage flair, my clients and social media followers are always in for an eclectic spin on how to make a house feel like a home.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Laughable but true, my home and real estate-loving mother provided some of my favorite memories.

Cruising alongside her to appointments, map and MLS book in hand. She was kind enough to allow me to help stuff envelopes for mailers and made me feel included in branding and design decisions, even at a young age.

Her openness in storytelling sparked an undeniable passion for real estate and finding homes for clients that continue to leave me excited about my choice of career.
