Exploring Life & Business with Dr. Wes Fisher of The Contracting Blueprint

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Wes Fisher

Hi Dr. Wes, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my journey in government contracting as a prime contractor, where I work closely with subcontractors to fulfill various contracts. My role involves managing and coordinating projects without being directly involved in the physical labor, which is the core of my “middleman” strategy. Over the years, I’ve successfully built a multi-million dollar contracting business by securing contracts and strategically partnering with subcontractors to get the work done efficiently. Today, my business continues to thrive by scaling through strong relationships and strategic execution.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
All business has its bumps, but my journey was smoother because I chose to invest in myself and get expert guidance. Working with Jason White was a game changer. He helped me navigate the complexities of government contracting and, with his mentorship, I was able to secure my first contract within 30 days. That early win gave me the confidence and momentum to keep pushing forward, even when things got tough. It showed me that investing in the right resources can significantly accelerate success.

We’ve been impressed with The Contracting Blueprint, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business focuses on teaching others how to win government contracts as a middleman, just like I’ve done. To date, my students have been awarded over $80 million in contracts, and we’re on track to hit $100 million by the end of the year. What sets my brand apart is that I’m actively doing what I teach. Just last month, I was awarded five new contracts. My passion for teaching is fulfilled by helping others succeed in this space, which is rare to find in someone actively engaged in government contracting.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anyone just starting out, my biggest piece of advice is to invest in yourself. Whether it’s through education, mentorship, or resources, you are your best asset. Early on, I didn’t fully understand the power of mentorship, but once I connected with someone who had the experience and results I wanted, things changed quickly. I was able to land my first contract in 30 days. Don’t be afraid to invest time, energy, and money into learning—it’s the best shortcut to success you’ll ever find.
