Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Bell

Hi Courtney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Western Kentucky, where I developed an early interest in art and photography. In 2012, I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Arts Administration and moved to the Cincinnati area in 2019. I have worked with various clients and organizations, such as local businesses, nonprofits, and festivals, to showcase their stories and products through my images.

I am not only a photographer, but also an avid art, music and live performance lover. I love supporting my local communities and attending events that celebrate the diversity and culture of Cincinnati, OH. I also love using my time and skills to document and promote the work of local artists, musicians, and performers. You can also find me on Litehouse.media as a concert/event photographer and reviewer.

I believe that art and photography can bring people together and inspire positive change in the world.

When I am not working or adventuring, I like to spend my time reading, working on my next art project, practicing yoga, or hanging out by the firepit with my husband and three dogs. I enjoy exploring new places and experiences, and always brings my camera with me to capture the moments that matter. Photography is not only my profession, but also my way of life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, owning your own business is never a smooth road, but is a very rewarding journey. I personally struggle with self-confidence, and as a business owner this is a must have skill. As a photographer, you have to sale yourself, your style, and your art to clients.

I have learned that my art is appreciated by many people, and this has boosted my confidence tremendously. When others and your community believe in you, it’s much easier to believe in yourself too.

At Happy Hippie Creative we enjoy highlighting and supporting our local community in Kentucky and Ohio. Both states are absolutely beautiful and there are so many hidden treasures to discover!

Not only are there great locations, businesses, and events in our area, there are also a lot great artist that live among us! One of our favorite things to do at Happy Hippie Creative is to highlight and support other artists to bring awareness and introduce the community to them.

Another huge mission for Happy Hippie Creative is to give back to our community. We do this through sponsoring various charity events and nonprofit events throughout the year by donating our event photography services.

How do you think about happiness?
I truly love supporting other people and raising them up. I love to be a mentor to others and am always a listening ear to many people. Helping others in this way truly makes me happy.

Other simple things that make me are art, nature, animals, and the sound of the ocean.
