Today we’d like to introduce you to Colton Isaac.
Hi Colton, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My path into real estate wasn’t traditional. I was raised in Southern Ohio with a blue collar background, where work ethic and consistency were non-negotiable. My father spent years working long hours and traveling significant distances to provide for our family while both parents led an example of a God centered life, and that example shaped how I approach responsibility and discipline today.
I’ve also lived in multiple states, including Florida and Kentucky, before ultimately returning to Ohio. That experience gave me a broader perspective early on and helped shape my ability to adapt, communicate, and understand different environments something that carries over into how I work with clients today.
Before entering real estate, I spent nearly a decade working in highly regulated industrial environments, where I was involved in operations ranging from laboratory quality control to developing and implementing standard operating procedures and training systems across multiple facilities in different states, contributing to consistency, safety, and operational efficiency at scale. That experience required precision, accountability, and a deep understanding of compliance, working within standards tied to agencies such as the EPA, DOT, DHS, and ATF. I was responsible for managing sensitive data, maintaining strict documentation, and ensuring that every process was executed correctly and safely, while also taking on leadership responsibilities training others and contributing to operational improvements.
I was also selected for the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy, which further reinforced a disciplined, high performance mindset something that continues to shape how I approach both business and leadership today.
While working full-time, I earned my real estate education and transitioned into the industry with a different perspective. I didn’t view real estate as a transactional field I saw an opportunity to bring structure, systems, and a higher level of execution into the client experience.
In addition to my professional background, I’ve spent time studying and participating in financial markets, including equities and broader investment strategies. That experience has helped me develop a stronger understanding of market behavior, risk management, and long-term capital growth perspectives that directly influence how I approach real estate decisions for both myself and my clients.
I also prioritize continued growth and development by attending industry events and surrounding myself with experienced professional as seen with CEO and Co-Founder of COMPASS Robert Reffkin and President of ERA Realestate Alex Vidal, allowing me to stay aligned with evolving strategies, market shifts, and best practices within real estate.
Today, I’m a licensed Realtor with ERA Martin & Associates, where I serve as the founder and team lead of The Isaac Group. My focus is on building a disciplined, client centered operation that emphasizes clarity, responsiveness, and strategic decision making across residential, commercial, and relocation transactions.
While I’m still early in my real estate career, the long term vision is clear: to continue growing The Isaac Group into a structured, scalable operation built on strong processes, strong relationships, and consistent results. Our core belief is “Building Futures, One Property At A Time”, we’ve set this standard, so we view every client as an opportunity to build the generation of tomorrow.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The transition into real estate has not been a smooth road, especially entering a field where many professionals rely heavily on experience, long-standing relationships, and established pipelines. Early on, one of the biggest challenges was building everything from the ground up relationships, systems, and consistent deal flow while continuing to learn and adapt in a competitive environment.
Another challenge was avoiding the tendency to operate reactively. In real estate, it’s easy to chase deals or rely on inconsistent activity, especially early in a career. Instead, I made a conscious decision to focus on building structure developing repeatable processes, maintaining disciplined communication, and holding a high standard in how I approached each client interaction.
There was also a transition from a highly structured, salaried environment into a performance based business where results are directly tied to effort and consistency. That shift required a high level of discipline, patience, and the ability to stay focused without immediate returns.
Ultimately, those challenges became an advantage. They forced me to develop systems early, stay consistent, and approach the business with a long term mindset. Instead of relying on short term wins, I’ve focused on building a foundation that will continue to grow and perform over time.
We’ve been impressed with The Isaac Group (Brokered by ERA Martin & Associates), but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Isaac Group is a real estate team based in Southern Ohio, formed by three team members Brokered by ERA Martin & Associates, Colton Isaac (Realtor, Founder and Team Lead of The Isaac Group), Roger Isaac (Realtor) and Demi Hannah (Realtor), focused on delivering structured, strategic execution across residential, commercial, and relocation transactions. As the founder and team lead, I built the group with the intention of operating differently emphasizing systems, discipline, and long-term client relationships over transactional volume.
We specialize in guiding clients through real estate decisions with clarity and precision. Whether working with buyers, sellers, or investors, the focus is always on understanding the objective first and then executing with a strategy that aligns with current market conditions.
What sets The Isaac Group apart is the structure behind how we operate. Every client is supported through a system built on communication standards, follow-up processes, and accountability. This allows us to deliver a consistent level of service while maintaining attention to detail throughout each transaction.
We also place a strong emphasis on market awareness. By tracking pricing trends, days on market, and local economic movement, we’re able to position our clients more effectively whether that means negotiating stronger terms, identifying opportunities, or timing decisions correctly.
The group has been actively expanding across multiple Ohio markets, working with a range of clients including residential buyers, commercial prospects, and relocation opportunities. That growth is intentional and driven by a focus on building a long-term, scalable operation.
Brand wise, I’m most proud of the foundation being built. The Isaac Group represents professionalism, discipline, and reliability values that come from both personal experience and the environments I’ve operated in prior to real estate. The goal is to create something that lasts, not just something that performs in the short term.
Operating under ERA Martin & Associates, part of the global ERA Real Estate network, also reinforces a high standard of performance and professionalism. That environment allows us to combine strong local market knowledge with the backing of a recognized global brand.
At its core, The Isaac Group is focused on helping clients make informed decisions, protecting their position, and delivering results through structure, consistency, and trust.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The most important quality to my success is God centered discipline.
Discipline creates consistency, and consistency is what produces results over time. In an industry where outcomes can fluctuate and many people operate based on emotion or short term opportunities, discipline allows me to stay focused, follow structured processes, and execute at a high level regardless of external conditions.
It also shows up in how I communicate, how I manage time, and how I approach each client interaction. Whether it’s following up when others don’t, staying organized throughout a transaction, or maintaining a standard even when things become difficult, discipline is what keeps everything aligned.
I’ve learned that success isn’t built on isolated wins, it’s built on repeated, consistent actions over time. Discipline is what allows those actions to happen every day, not just when it’s convenient.
At the end of the day, discipline removes guesswork. It creates structure, builds trust, and ensures that both I and the clients I work with can rely on a consistent level of performance.
