Hi Christina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off working part-time for a chiropractor and part-time for Massage Envy. I did that for 6 years before I worked up enough nerve to venture out on my own. One of my colleagues reached out wanting to see if I would be interested in renting a room for massage therapy. I took that leap and started working for myself in 2015. Things were very slow at first, but then I started retaining more clients, and they were referring others to me as well. Three years later, my colleague didn’t want to keep pursuing Massage therapy and closed the office we were working in. So, another colleague and myself agreed that we both wanted to keep pursuing our passion to help other people. We found our space in West Chester and came up with our name MC Massage Therapy in 2019. The first year was good; then the pandemic hit us the past 2 years. That was a very challenging time for us along with everyone in the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The pandemic was a huge setback for a lot of reasons from losing a lot of our elderly clients to people just scared to come outside due to everything that was going on.

We are licensed massage therapists that specialize in quite of few different modalities that include deep tissue, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, prenatal, couples, hot stone, warm bamboo, and corporate chair massage as well. We are known for our knowledge of the body and muscles along with longevity of our skill set that we’ve acquired over the past 10 years. We offer a wellness program that you can join. It allows a massage once a month at a lowered discounted rate, with no obligation, and you can cancel anytime. We also offer upgrades that you can add on to your massage like the theragun, CBD, and aromatherapy.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is being able to do your best in the everyday roles you have in life and being happy with the outcome even when you have setbacks. We are very successful in making a difference and improving someone’s day-to-day life and getting them back to their normal routines after injuries, overuse, repetitiveness, or everyday stressors. Most importantly, our clients are the reason we are successful from helping us grow by following us over the years, continuing to support us, and giving us great referrals.
