Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Wise
Chris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am 30 years old, born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2015, I picked up a camera for the first time to begin what I did not know would be my career as a videographer and photographer. That camera was a 35mm film camera that pushed me to learn the basics of photography; just shooting with no immediate result until I got them developed. I started off photographing urban landscapes, artists, musicians, and friends alike. A group of artists I started working with consistently had me around to shoot for them, this led to them purchasing my first digital camera for me. From there, it was no holding me back. I started to experiment with video on that camera, shooting music videos and random creative projects to learn what the video side was about. I fell in love with video right away; at the time directors in the music industry, like Cole Bennett of Lyrical Lemonade, Laka Films, and Lone Wolf, inspired me to continue the path of a music video director. One day an old friend of mine asked if I was able to shoot a wedding film, which was something I had never considered or even thought of. I agreed to do the wedding for a small fee of $200. Ever since then, wedding films became a big part of what I can do with my camera, I developed a passion to provide exceptional quality and service to couples in the greater Cincinnati area and beyond. Although I still do music video and creative projects on the side.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has a been a crazy journey with many ups and downs; a lot of learning and growing, from doing things solo to partnering with other shooters and editors. I have had several partners move on from the business, leaving me to go back to being on my own. Today I have a group of videographers and editors who I contract out, instead of partnering them within my business. I have been through a lot and have shot hundreds of videos altogether, and plan to continue my journey in film and production.

I own 2 businesses, both are in the media and production field. Wise Wedding Films handles all wedding films and productions, while WiseWordsMGMT takes care of the music video direction and creative projects, as well as corporate work as needed. My knowledge of how to use my equipment, the quality of work I produce, and the great customer service I provide is what sets me apart from others. Who else deserves credit in your story?
My grandfather, former photographer, and my mother who has an artistic side in drawing and painting. I feel that it is in my blood to be a creative. The guys who I started out shooting photos for in the beginning, Aaron, Corveon, and Corey. They are my best friends to this day and I owe them for betting on me, and helping me buy my first digital camera. Zach my old business partner who I started out with and shot the first wedding ever with. We are no longer in contact but he helped me in my beginning stages as well, he was like my right hand man.
