Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Kreitzer
Hi Chase, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My friend and I started A Pretty Picnic in late 2021 and it really stemmed from my desire to own my own business. It wasn’t until an event my friend was hosting that I felt inspired to try charcuterie. So, we began practicing and doing some research on both charcuterie and owning a business as I had no experience in doing either. Once we were solid on the legalities like licensing and obtaining our LLC, etc., we were able to begin marketing and curating our charcuterie boards. Since then, we have completely upped our charcuterie game including our style/ presentation, packaging, branding, etc., but one thing we’ve always done and will continue to do is take care of our customers. It is thanks to their support, and the support of our friends and family that we’ve been successful and continue to grow.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have been so lucky to have friends with like minded creative styles who help when we need it, but we are the only employees at the kitchen. The biggest obstacles revolve around that. We both work other jobs, so we have to plan out our schedules down to the last detail so we can prioritize and ensure everything gets completed while maintaining our high standards for freshness. We practice good communication, organization, and planning to overcome these obstacles. Anything can be done with great teamwork!

A Pretty Picnic is a craft charcuterie business located in Dayton, Ohio. We are detail oriented experts in cheese cutting, meat folding, and all the skills it takes to create a breathtaking charcuterie board. Our boards are available for order in various sizes on our website year round. We’re also available for catering all types of events with our grazing tables and participate in markets throughout the year where we share an expanded menu featuring sourdough bagels, salads, homemade jams/peanut butter, and other homemade treats. We love getting to know all of our supporters and can’t wait to one day have a space of our own for everyone to hangout and enjoy good food.
