Exploring Life & Business with Brent Reed of Cleveland Uprising

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brent Reed

Hi Brent, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started attending Cleveland State University in Fall 2012. I initially saw a city that had its struggles with so much potential. The CSU campus had not been updated for years and had tons of opportunity for development. I wanted to shine light on the opportunity.

Eventually, the campus was slowly updating and I took pictures of the real estate updates and blogged about it. The quick thought of calling it Cleveland Uprising was out of a positive uplifting statement about the city improving. I published real estate articles for the CSU school paper a few times as well.

At the time I saw no social media connected to Cleveland about the updates besides main news feeds, so I was one of the first to promote Cleveland social media wise from an individual standpoint at such a dedicated level.

I put out an ad on Facebook and it exploded with followers and before you know it I was speaking at CSU 5 under 35 young Alumni events and being invited to the Chicago build Expo to speak about the city recently.

Cleveland is a city that when I started the blog was just starting to Uprise and improve.

Now in 2024 Cleveland is being thought of as one of the next upcoming midsized USA cities.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There certainly were struggles. While first attending college at Cleveland State University I was finding myself and a path that felt like a purpose. The career struggles are not easy at times around Cleveland. At the start of my media journey there was a need for a networking and small business marketing platform around the area. Therefore, along with Cleveland Uprising I started Cleveland Business Networking, where jobs and business marketing can be posted. Cleveland Uprising also offers submissions for free Business Feature Articles.

The adversity in life is only a stepping stone when we have an overall goal.

We have to realize our main purpose of the “Why”. Within my days of walking the city taking pictures out of the love of photography, writing articles out of the love of writing, and also capturing events to help be part of the story of the city and people is what fueled me.

So through the struggles the “Why” is the homeless, the people that need a helping hand up, or a network to find a job with my Business Networking group through Cleveland Uprising.

The struggles if we know our “Why” are not obstacles but stepping stones.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cleveland Uprising?
This media platform is designed to update on the production, news and events in Cleveland.

The main feature for promotion is real estate and construction development updates. The feed is going to feature, promote and connect more events and real estate networking.

The brand awareness is reached through overall news updates about the city with a main focus on the Real Estate Development and those companies looking for promotion as well.

The Cleveland Business Networking is linked to Cleveland Uprising with promotions of businesses and local company products and events.

The point of Cleveland Uprising is to continue to create a marketing platform for the city, creating networking and connectivity.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that work any job you can with the income being poured into your main purpose.

The jobs aren’t your career, if they fuel and build your main business and platform. Those jobs then become the financing for your main business, goal and purpose.

I have used side jobs to promote my businesses and hand out cards, which gained a lot of the momentum.
