Hi Asia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started in the beauty industry back in 2019, right after finishing college. I had been drawn to cosmetology since high school, so once I wrapped up my degree, I decided to finally go for it and get licensed. Not long after, I started working at a waxing chain in Columbus. I stayed there for about two years, but eventually realized I wanted more freedom to create a space that actually reflected my personality and values. So, I took the leap and opened my own studio, one that’s inclusive, and fun.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As much as I wish it had been a smooth road, it definitely hasn’t. Running a business without any prior experience is a challenge in itself especially in the beginning when you’re wearing every hat and doing everything on your own. But it’s deeper than just learning how to run a business. You also have to grow personally shift your mindset, set boundaries, and evolve while still staying true to yourself and the original purpose that pushed you to start in the first place. And somehow, even now, I’m still constantly learning, adjusting, and growing from my mistakes. It’s humbling, but it keeps me moving forward.
We’ve been impressed with Good Daze Waxing , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Good Daze, we offer full body waxing and other esthetic services like lash lifts and brows. Our specialty is Brazilian waxing, for everybody. All genders, all body types, and especially first-timers are welcome here.
What really sets us apart is that our inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword, it’s built into every part of the experience. We have gender-neutral pricing (no matter what parts you have), non-traditional positioning options for comfort, and even a bed that holds over 750 lbs. Every detail is intentional and designed to make clients feel safe, seen, and supported.
What I’m most proud of is being able to take something that usually feels scary or nerve-wracking and turn it into something people actually enjoy. Clients often say it feels more like catching up with a friend than a waxing appointment and that’s exactly the vibe I’ve worked hard to create
Any big plans?
I’m looking forward to expanding Good Daze even more in the future. I started out in a small suite, and now I’m in a space where I’ve been able to bring in other beauty professionals to work alongside me. The next big step is building a team, hiring employees so that even more people can experience the kind of inclusive, welcoming service that makes Good Daze what it is. Growth for me isn’t just about size, it’s about continuing to create a space where clients and professionals feel good showing up as themselves.in a supportive environment.
