Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron McDaniel.
Hi Aaron, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Blueprint Investments over ten years ago, out of a desire to utilize the real estate vehicle as a means to freedom. I didn’t know what it would look like, but I knew that if I was consistent, I could find my lane and take advantage! We started with small single-family properties during the real estate downtown (08) and then transitioned to flips as the market heated up (17) and we currently focus on traditional rentals, short-term rentals, multi-family, and development opportunities.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am a ‘fail forward’ story. A lot of the struggles that we’ve experienced surrounded lack of experience, knowledge, or resources. And I think the moral of the story is that it’s a part of the journey to success. I’ve learned to be more comfortable being uncomfortable on a daily basis, and never turning down the opportunity to surround myself with smart people and ask a lot of questions.
We’ve been impressed with Blueprint Investments LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Blueprint Investments is a home-grown real estate investment company. I was born and raised in east Columbus, and I’m proud to be able to be a part of the redevelopment of our city. We work to focus on high-quality products and service. I’m proud of the growth and the challenges that have come along with it.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Mentors CANNOT be understated!!! It’s so important to be able to leverage the experience of people doing what you want to do. With that being said, I try to approach relationships being intentional about value exchange.
