Daily Inspiration: Meet Vic Savage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vic Savage

Hi Vic, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a Spanish neighborhood and I didn’t speak English until 5th grade. I have had a creative mind since an early age, from drawing on notebooks to drawing on walls, which led me into painting murals and signs. I met a good friend along the way who introduced me to tattooing. Although tattooing is my main focus these days, I still love going back to my roots and painting murals when the opportunity arises.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When you are trying to grow as an artist, there are always bumps along the way, but the only to succeed is to see it through and work hard. There have been plenty of struggles but some of those have made me who I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am known for my bold, traditional tattoos and my large scales murals that can be seen around the city. My graffiti background gives me a different perspective on understanding layout, design, as well as color theories.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I’m a born and raised Clevelander. I’m so proud to be from here and to see how far this city has come. I’d say a few of my favorite things in this city in no particular order are, the West Side Market, Wendy park, Tremont, Prosperity Social Club, Grog Shop, Browns tailgate, and Parkview.

Least favorite, Deshaun Watson
