Today we’d like to introduce you to Vaishali Shukla
Hi Vaishali, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It started with a school educational trip to an Ayurveda college, I was in 8th grade. We roamed around and were taken to different departments so we can be aware of how ancient Indian medicinal system is playing a huge role in prevention and cure. Little did I know and understand then about it, came back home and told my parents how I was really intrigued by Ayurveda that day.
As an Ayurveda student – It was a struggling journey to study and understand sanskrit verses from Ayurveda textbooks and at the same time studying Morden anatomy and physiology books in first year. From the second year, got accustomed with it and studied Ayurveda and modern books combined, trust me it was real fun! Cutting things short now, later years went well and completed my internship, cleared PG entrance exams and got admitted to college for doing my Masters. Completed my thesis, research in 3 years, took exams and then my masters got over too and I am filled with gratitude for the same.
All this while one thought that has been consistent is – did not choose Ayurveda, rather Ayurveda chose me!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to practice ancient system of medicine in the modern world is quite challenging, but once you get hold of making people understand that it’s gem for both prevention and cure, there is no going back for them!
It’s a beautiful science that helps you develop a deeper connection between your mind, body and soul.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an MD Ayurveda, a registered practitioner with AAPNA (association of Ayurvedic professionals of North America).
I practice and preach science of Ayurveda that deals with prevention of metabolic disorders and treatment of chronic skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis, digestive disorders and hormonal conditions.
As a practitioner – One can only propagate Ayurveda if they practice it in their daily life. I have adapted little Ayurveda Dincharya (Daily rituals) Ritucharya (seasonal rituals) and Eating practices in my life which has helped me so much heal & promote all my health compartments.
As a practitioner, I have also witnessed Ayurveda doing miracles in places where nothing else was working.
I have seen people getting a boost in their confidence after getting completely rid of there chronic disorders. People get a complete understanding of their bodies so they can take care of it better. When I see my patients getting better, I sleep better at night. When I don’t see that, it makes me thrive more for knowledge so l can make a difference in people’s health.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck is always in the play!
I feel I am very blessed to have achieved everything I have learned and earned.
