Daily Inspiration: Meet Taylor Supeck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Supeck.

Hi Taylor, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I co-founded Cozy in Cle in August of 2016 with my best friend after graduation and moving back home to Cleveland. Initially, we were looking for a fun side hobby we could do together after hours from our 9-5 jobs. As two passionate native Clevelanders, naturally all of our ideas revolved around how we could incorporate our love for the city. We dreamt up Cozy in Cle initially as an Instagram page where we could share our adventures around Cleveland with fellow Cleveland lovers who were looking for new places to eat, drink, and visit. Our goal (which is still true today!) was to spread our love for the city and drive awareness to local businesses through our content. Not long after we started, she received an awesome job offer that took her out of state (although she’s still a proud Clevelander even from afar!). I’ve since taken over Cozy in Cle and have had the pleasure of meeting so many fellow foodies, bloggers, and local business owners and featuring them on my page!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t always been smooth! Keeping up with the ever-changing social media landscape has been a challenge, and finding time and energy to continuously provide content that I think my followers will find valuable and interesting is difficult at times. I think in any creative environment it can be difficult to find inspiration constantly (especially throughout the pandemic when local businesses shut down and we were quarantined inside our homes). There have been times where I’ve taken a short break from posting content to allow myself a moment to catch my breath and really think through the best next steps for my page and how I could push myself to continue spreading awareness around local businesses in new and creative ways.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Cozy in Cle is dedicated to spreading awareness of local Cleveland business owners. The content I share revolves around drinks, food, things to do, and places to visit in and around Cleveland. I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve formed with fellow Clevelanders including local business owners, fellow foodies or bloggers, and my followers. I’ve loved meeting and connecting with others who love the city just as much as I do. Very little of my content is paid for or sponsored by the businesses that I feature, as I’m purely driven by my the love for this city and the opportunity Cozy in Cle has given me to form connections with so many amazing people in Cleveland.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
It’s okay to take a step back and reevaluate where you’re at and where you want to go. Sometimes you need to take a break to reflect on how far you’ve come and what the next best steps might be for you. Those moments of reflection are where some of your best ideas could come from.
