Daily Inspiration: Meet Paris Trammell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Trammell.

Hi Paris , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started off in this healthcare field in 2007 working as a Medical Assistant. I did that for about 4 years before going to nursing school. I completed my LPN in 2012 and intended to keep going for my RN however, life happens and that was delayed. I completed my RN in 2020 and throughout my career I’ve worked as a RN case manager along with working in outpatient clinics and some local travel assignments. Majority of my career has been around case management.
During the pandemic I was up late at night on you tube and came across my current mentor in the home care world. I attended her conference in Atlanta once the stay home orders were lifted and was blown away by the amount of success in the room. In 2021 Perfect PIK Homecare was founded and formed. I saw the need for home care that not only allows you to age at home, but displays excellent care. There are many home care agency’s out there, which I’ve worked for some…but not many hold the true meaning of excellent home care to their heart like I do! I pride myself on being an excellent nurse when it comes to patient care and my bedside manners, I’ve carried that into my business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not, I don’t think anything worth having will be a smooth road. I’ve wanted to quit on so many occasions due to lack of confidence entering the entrepreneur world. It’s 1 thing to be a nurse, but to be a successful entrepreneur is a totally different ball game. For me the logistics behind entrepreneurship is something that I continue to study, learn and grow in daily. From managing staff, to hiring the RIGHT staff, nurturing your current and future clients, having a vision of growth and what it takes to get there. These are all things that can be a struggle at times however, being in a mentorship program and always looking for the answer has kept me going.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Registered Nurse and the owner of Perfect PIK Homecare, which is a non medical home care agency located in Columbus, Ohio. We specialize in senior care however, we are dedicated to providing home care to those who need it over the age of 18. On a personal level I am known for handling my business despite the challenges I have faced throughout life.
As a business owner, my agency is know for providing excellent care at home.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is number 1 my nursing background, there are alot of agency owners that do not have the medical background which is not necessary in this industry but I do believe it sets me apart.
I also make it a point to be involved with the onboarding of new clients from the start of care and throughout. I pride myself on being a resource to anyone that decides to pick my agency
Now as I grow some things may change but for now I believe that adds a special touch!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people who know me personally know that I have a 22 year old son however, people who know me on a professional level may not know that I was a mother at the age of 15.
I would say something else that may or may not be surprising is I am an introvert however, when I’m speaking with a new or current client I am completely extroverted because I’m confident in my skill.
