Daily Inspiration: Meet Meghan Metzger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Metzger

Hi Meghan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ll start with a simple summary- I am a mother, energy worker, intuitive guide, and budding writer. One of my many passions and current focus is serving mothers, assisting them in reclaiming their unique and whole Self and reconnecting them to the miraculous technology of their body. There are so many layers to my story, it’s so hard to narrow it down! But let’s start in 2017 when I experienced my first, what I would call spiritual awakening, after escaping an abusive relationship and spending my life’s savings on a five week solo trip around Europe. I had been dabbling in yoga and meditation for a few months, but this trip amplified the call to explore these ancient practices more deeply. In order to save money, I volunteered at a small yoga retreat center in the Canary Islands for two weeks and this is where I truly reconnected with my spirituality, feeling deep in my bones that someone, something, was guiding me and I was a part of a grander plan. I continued my meditation and yoga practices, which slowly but surely brought me back to my body and strengthened my relationship with myself. I was shown how my body stored suppressed emotions and as I revisited painful past memories with compassionate curiosity, I started to heal in all aspects of my life.

Over the next seven years, with the support of an array of modalities ranging from chiropractic care, dry needling, acupuncture, weight lifting, a real, whole food diet, feeling my feelings, and receiving support from trusted experts, the chronic pain in my lower back, neck, and shoulders disappeared. The cloud around my head dissipated, the acne on my face, arms, and back cleared up, and my nervous system softened. Through this process I also met my husband, strengthened relationships with family and friends, set compassionate boundaries, let go of that which no longer served me, had two beautiful children, and followed the path to my true calling- serving mothers.

In 2020 I was working as a health coach and uncovered my gift of intuition and holding healing space for people. I was introduced to Nikko Novo, and completed her course in energy reading to help refine my gifts. This was the moment I came to terms with the fact that I had psychic abilities- a wild and exciting realization! Before I knew it, people were booking energy readings with me from around the world and every single one of them left me with a warm knowing that this is how I’m meant to serve. Fast forward to today where my main focus is supporting mothers in a truly holistic way through teaching, coaching, and energy work. I host in-person and online community gatherings, retreats, and healing circles while also continuing to offer one-on-one energy readings and coaching. I do this alongside raising my own babies full time, so this work truly saturates every aspect of my life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been moments of smooth growth along with moments of hardship, as expected. The biggest struggle for me was unraveling all of the societal programming that disconnected me from my soul and body. One of the most potent programs was what I call the “good girl” program, often born from organized religion and well-intended, emotionally immature parents and teachers who offer love and attention as a trade for being “good.” I realized this conditioning led to people-pleasing tendencies and a desperation to prove I was good and worthy so I could fit in. Without this perceived sense of safety in belonging as I chose my own path, it felt like a rug pulled from under me. This de-programming is a constant, daily practice that asks you to choose your own wants and desires over that of others and it inevitably led to a temporary separation from the crowd I was a part of, which flooded me with doubt and shame. I had no idea how I would be able to openly offer energy readings and spiritual content when the family I’m a part of is very catholic! But eventually, after constantly guiding myself back to my own inner knowing and strengthening my self-trust, this became easier and I have found a deeper sense of belonging as I’ve aligned with my whole, true self. And surprisingly, the people who I feared judgement from are simply happy that I’m happy. This has by far been the biggest catalyst to my growth as a person, mother, and entrepreneur.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an intuitive guide and energy worker. I primarily work with mothers to help guide them in remembering who they truly are, what their purpose is in this lifetime, and how to actualize their gifts. I love working with mothers because they are truly the center of our ecosystem, as they bring life into the world and have the power to create drastic change in the safety of their homes. There is nothing more powerful than a mother who knows herself. When she knows herself, she knows how to regulate her nervous system and therefore can co-regulate with her children and partner. When she knows herself, she loves herself. When she loves herself, she gives herself space to experience joy, pleasure, and freedom. She then radiates positive energy and has the power to heal the people around her simply by existing in this aligned state.

It is my dream for all mothers to experience this state of abundance. As you can imagine, it’s difficult to achieve this in the current world we live in, where disconnection, dis-ease, and misalignment are the norm. Mothers are more anxious and busy than ever before, navigating information overload and feeling the external pressures to have a perfect body, clean house, happy marriage, thriving friendships, successful career, and so on. We are set up for failure before we even birth our first baby. We’re told motherhood is scary and hard and that we’ll need lots of wine and antidepressants to soothe our tired and wired minds.

I want to offer a different perspective. Motherhood isn’t without challenges, and we have a choice to use these challenges as an invitation for expansion or collapse. I choose expansion. Expansion takes bravery, radical self responsibility, and compassionate curiosity. These are the foundations in which families can grow, and I have witnessed firsthand the incredible ripple effect that can occur when mothers choose to step into their power.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Ahh I love this question! We lived next to the county fairgrounds when I was a kid and my favorite thing to do was go to the horse barns and talk to the horses. As often as my parents would allow, I would go there and spend as much time as possible feeding, petting, and chatting with the horses boarding there. One very lucky day, one of the owners was there and she let me help her tend to her big quarterhorse. I got to bathe him, rake out his stall, feed him, fill his water, and walk him around. It was the best day of my little life! And I’m still obsessed with horses.
