Daily Inspiration: Meet Martelle Graham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Martelle Graham.

Hi Martelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Art started out as an outlet to escape, it was something to do to past time during class, family vacations, long drives, or for just expressing myself when all words fail. Eventually, I started to get really good at bring my visions or emotions to light to share with the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My art career has had his fair shares of ups and downs. You hear a lot of nos before yes’s, social media aspect may be the hardest part of it. It’s not just creating art and posting. You have to engage the viewers, stay on top of things, promote, and sometimes do things you wouldn’t normally do. I’m a person who likes to be behind the scenes with social media, that’s not always the case; you and your art are the content.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a multi-faceted artist. I’m just really good with my hands. I draw, paint, build, design, digital art, etc. Any way I can be creative, I find a way to be. I would say I’m known for my subject matter, surrealism, bringing thoughts and imaginations to real life. I’m most proud of my rebrand. My rebrand is was the best thing I’ve done business-wise. I needed to create a brand that embodies me. When you see PuffsandPalettes you see Martelle. It’s a little sneak peek into knowing me personally; outside of a rebrand, I now have my artwork in select home goods across the US

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Next 5-10 years, I feel that the industry is going keep booming the way it is. I feel it will be more opportunities for smaller/local artist to maximize their visibility and monetization on social media.
