Daily Inspiration: Meet Marcia Craggett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcia Craggett.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi! I’m Marcia and I’m the proud owner of She Fly Tho LLC. In 2015, I began blogging under the alias “The Undercover Fashionista” as an effort to help me heal while on a journey of self-love; sharing stories about my personal growth and my passion for fashion. Inspired by my sense of style, followers requested my expertise for amping up their personal style, and my work expanded into assisting with celebrity photoshoots, branding projects, and more.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Oh, no. I say this with all the appreciation in the world, but entrepreneurship is an EXTREMELY rocky road. My blog started out as a form of self-expression, not a business. And while I had an undergraduate degree in Marketing, I was ten years removed from my studies when I became an entrepreneur. I had to relearn how to manage, scale, and promote a business. Honestly, I’m still learning, still hitting a bump in the road here and there, but my work is incredibly rewarding.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a personal stylist and photographer and work with young professionals who are looking to evaluate their wardrobe and refine themselves. Most, if not all my clients, are establishing companies and want an image to match. And I welcome clients of all shapes and sizes to start the journey of expressing their unique style and personalities. My biggest joy is watching my clients’ confidence bloom during our sessions. I like to start by probing them for information, getting a feel for who they are and how they want to express themselves. By the end of our session, they trust their own style and fashion instincts, which I think helps build confidence and decision-making in other areas of life. It’s truly remarkable to witness the transformation.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
More than giving style advice, I provide a safe space to be vulnerable. I see style as a tool to help my clients confront and work through their insecurities and build self-esteem. And that’s my mission across the board, not just with clients, but on social media and in my everyday life. As someone who’s had her own issues with self-love and acceptance, I want to radiate positivity and show people how to embrace and rock the skin they’re in.
