Daily Inspiration: Meet Logan Pride

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Pride.

Hi Logan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey has been one of faith, perseverance, and purpose. I grew up in Twinsburg, Ohio, where I learned the value of hard work, leadership, and serving others. Throughout my life, I challenged myself to step outside my comfort zone, whether that was through academics, community involvement, mentoring youth, or pursuing opportunities that would allow me to make a positive impact.

Academically, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and continued into a master’s program in Computer Engineering through an accelerated 3+2 pathway. Being one of the few Black women pursuing engineering has strengthened my belief that representation matters. It has inspired me to encourage young people, especially young women of color, to pursue careers in STEM with confidence.

My pageant journey has been just as transformative. I didn’t enter simply to wear a crown; I entered because I wanted to use my voice and platform to inspire others. Through pageantry, I have developed greater confidence, strengthened my public speaking skills, built lifelong relationships, and discovered new ways to serve my community. Every competition has taught me resilience, grace under pressure, and the importance of leading with authenticity.

Being crowned Miss Black Ohio America is both an incredible honor and a responsibility that I cherish. This title represents more than personal achievement; it represents the opportunity to advocate for education, empower future leaders, and celebrate the excellence, beauty, and accomplishments of Black women across our state. My story is still being written, and I am excited to continue using this platform to create meaningful change while inspiring others to believe that with determination, faith, and purpose, anything is possible.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, not at all. There have definitely been moments where I felt overwhelmed or questioned myself. Trying to balance school, pageantry, work, and everything else hasn’t always been easy. But I’ve learned that growth comes from those difficult moments. Every setback has taught me something, made me stronger, and reminded me why I started in the first place.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Computer Engineering after earning my bachelor’s in Computer Science. My focus is on embedded systems and hardware design, and I enjoy solving problems and building things that have a real-world impact.
What I’m most proud of is sticking with STEM, even when it hasn’t always been easy. As a Black woman in engineering, I hope my journey encourages other young women to see themselves in these spaces. What sets me apart is that I’m able to combine my technical background with my passion for serving others. Whether I’m in the classroom, competing in pageants, or mentoring young people, I always want to use what I’ve learned to make a positive difference.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was performing in my first dance recital with my baby sister. I was so nervous, but stepping onto that stage helped me overcome my fear of performing. Looking back, that moment gave me the confidence to keep putting myself out there, and it eventually led me to pageantry and so many other opportunities.
