Daily Inspiration: Meet Lauren Arielle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Arielle.

Hi Lauren, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve worked in marketing and advertising all of my adult life. It all started when I graduated from beauty school. I was seventeen years old, with a license to practice cosmetology. I knew I wanted to take my skills all the way, so I went to a private art school, where I majored in Fashion and minored in Economics.

At that time in my life, I also became a successful model. I had a pretty busy lifestyle. I traveled quite a bit, had photoshoots every week, and still had hair and makeup clients every week outside of my class schedule. I eventually went on tour with a large-scale marketing firm and that’s how I lived my life for the next six years.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not. My father died when I was in college, and he had no income to pay for his funeral. We just had a stack of unpaid medical bills and now a funeral to plan and pay for. I accepted a job, taking a tremendous pay cut, just so I could be close to my family. That money was spent on my father’s funeral.

My twin sister also gave birth to a special needs child a few years later. He had to have 7 reparative surgeries, and my sister had several health issues after the birth. All of it eventually led to emergency surgery for her as well. It has been a decade battle between grieving and rehabilitation.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in marketing and advertising. However, I’ve produced commercials, I’ve written how-to articles, and I’ve trained over 200 brand staff members in my industry! I used to teach. My students were from all over the world. For some of them, English was their fourth language. I used to model a lot, working with companies like Matrix, Redken, Paul Mitchell, and several others.

What I’m most proud of isn’t even my work. I’m most proud of my nieces and nephews. They motivate me. As for what sets me apart, it’s probably my unwillingness to give up. I work tirelessly on my projects; from staying up all night to working onsite for 19 hours straight! I’m always looking to finish a project fully and confidently.

What do you think about happiness?
I get my fulfillment in my work and the growth opportunities within that spectrum. I look at it as an arena, and it’s my job to contribute to it in the best way possible.

A lot of people measure happiness by what they own or how much money they make. Happiness is so much bigger and deeper than that. It’s a universal power. Happiness comes from gratitude and respect. It’s a feeling you get when you enjoy the process along the way.
