Daily Inspiration: Meet Justin Moose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Moose.

Hi Justin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I never planned to become a photographer. In 2019, I picked up a camera as a way to slow down and better observe the world around me. I was drawn to the quiet details—texture, lighting, symmetry in what’s often overlooked. What started as a casual hobby quickly became something much more meaningful. Photography gave me a fresh lens to interpret my surroundings, and before long, it became a part of how I express myself.

By 2023, I took a leap and began pursuing photography more seriously with the purchase of a Fujifilm XT-4. It felt like the right time to share my work more intentionally and explore the limits of my creative eye. My style naturally gravitated toward photographing inanimate objects—things people often pass by without a second thought. I love finding beauty in the stillness, the grit, and the forgotten corners of everyday life. That said, I occasionally step outside that comfort zone and experiment with other subjects when inspiration strikes.

Being recognized for my work has been both surreal and motivating. I was honored to have one of my photos featured in a Hammond Castle & Museum publication, and in 2025, I was thrilled to be named a winner of the Muy’Ono Resorts Photo Contest. Moments like that remind me why I started in the first place—and why I keep going.

Though I’m based in Northeast Ohio, I photograph all over the world. Whether I’m in my hometown or halfway around the globe, I approach every shot with the same mindset: slow down, look closer, and find the story hidden in plain sight.

You can find my work on Instagram at @MooseFrameMedia. It’s more than a portfolio—it’s a visual record of my journey, and I’m always excited to see where the next frame takes me

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning, I was constantly comparing my work to that of other photographers. Social media is a double-edged sword—it’s inspiring, but it can also make you second-guess your own style. It took time for me to stop chasing trends and start trusting my instincts. Once I leaned into what I was naturally drawn to—capturing inanimate objects and overlooked scenes—it all began to click.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in photographing inanimate objects, finding beauty in the overlooked and mundane. Whether it’s the texture of a weathered wall, the symmetry of urban architecture, or the play of light on a forgotten artifact, I aim to highlight the extraordinary within the ordinary. While inanimate subjects are my primary focus, I occasionally explore other genres to broaden my creative perspective.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think luck has absolutely played a role,
but it’s usually appeared after a lot of effort behind the scenes. There have definitely been moments of good luck, like stumbling across the perfect lighting in a back alley while traveling.

At the same time, I’ve had my fair share of bad luck, missed shots, broken equipment, and travel plans falling apart. However, those moments taught me to be flexible and to always keep creating, even when things don’t go as planned.
