Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayda Lee.
Hi Jayda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Jayda and I have a dream to be a blogger so I can share information about fun places people can go to make memories with their family. This will include everything to local sports, grabbing a dinner out, events, all-over-Ohio fun, and even some out-of-state adventures.

So, a little more about me is that I have a rare genetic disability called hemihypertrophy. It is a rare genetic condition that I was born with that causes one-half my body to grow longer, wider, and faster than the other. Sometimes I have to use my power wheelchair because of the pain and discomfort. I also play the flute, which I love. I have a kitty named Zeva. I love to draw and make fun memories with my mom. My dream job other than blogging is to become a cancer doctor. Cancer has unfortunately affected my family a lot.
Memories and new adventures are so important to me. You see our family has been hit with unfortunate medical circumstances. My nanny passed from terminal cancer in 2017, and the memories I have with her are so special. Last year my mom had to get 56 percent of her liver removed due to tumors, and to make matters harder my papa has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. So, memories and adventures mean so much.
I have a goal to become a blogger as, something I can do as I grow and become older. I want to do this for three reasons. The first reason is for fun. The second reason is to share with families the amazing adventures they can take while making the most memories together and being on a budget. I love sharing this information so other families could have the opportunity that I have had to make an amazing memories, watch a great movie, or have a fun adventure. The budget part is important because I live in a single mom’s house, and she has taught me that money doesn’t grow on trees unfortunately and budgeting has to be done because bills will always have to be paid. The third reason is to make more memories with my mom and maybe eventually earn money to help her with things like bills. She does so much for me, and I want to help buy being 12 kinda makes that hard so if I could get us a meal to review or a place to host us for fun that can also help her.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One struggle that I am having is one of two things either people don’t take me serious because of how old I am, or I do not have enough of a following for them to work with me. I won’t give up though because dreams can be made to come true.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Taking adventures and finding fun places and events to go to. Making memories is so important to me because cancer has slowly been taking family from me. A memory lasts forever, and it is what keeps me going. I am only 12 and have already been through so much from a rare genetic condition, to epilepsy and anxiety, to watching my nanny’s life slowly slip away from having terminal cancer to my aunt fighting her battle with cancer, papa being diagnosed with terminal cancer and also living in a single parent home learning how budget and hard work works. My mom is an extreme coupon shopper, and it has given me the opportunity to adventure and have what I need.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My mom helps me with a lot of this, but when I was little, I was told by an amazing successful blogger to always introduce yourself and be known because who you know can help you build your path. Following other bloggers, asking questions, and being supported always makes a difference. My mom takes me everywhere, which is what has made this journey start and be possible.
