Daily Inspiration: Meet Jayah Gaines

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayah Gaines.

Hi Jayah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always enjoyed watching streamers and content creators throughout different stages of my life. What drew me in the most was the storytelling and the ability to create entertaining, dramatic moments that kept people invested.

Toward the end of 2024, I was watching a lot of GTA FiveM roleplay streams, and that inspired me to start streaming myself. I was excited, so I invested in all the equipment I needed and spent the first few months learning the technical side of streaming and improving my content before taking it seriously.

I didn’t begin streaming consistently until February or March 2025. At first, I was genuinely excited if just one or two people tuned in. By March, I had built a regular audience of around 8 to 30 viewers, depending on the day. I was streaming on both Twitch and TikTok, mostly at night, but I realized I could reach a larger audience by switching to daytime streams.

Growth wasn’t immediate. Some days were slow, while others brought big spikes in viewership. Those moments gave me confidence that I had something people connected with. By the end of May, I was regularly averaging between 100 and 200 viewers on TikTok while streaming GTA V roleplay during the day.

My Twitch growth was slower, but I continued building both communities. By the end of the summer, I was averaging close to 1,000 viewers on TikTok. Around that time, I also started posting highlights and VODs from my streams on YouTube. Although I wasn’t livestreaming there, I wanted to build a presence by repurposing my content.

Within a couple of months, I was averaging over 1,000 viewers on TikTok and around 400 to 500 viewers on Twitch. I also decided to begin streaming on Kick. Managing multiple platforms was challenging, especially before I started multistreaming. I had to dedicate time to growing each community individually and learn what worked best for each audience.

Throughout 2025, I met a lot of incredible people, but I also dealt with trolls and negativity. Those experiences taught me how to stay professional, adapt, and stay focused on creating entertaining content. My biggest strength has always been building storylines that keep viewers engaged and coming back to see what happens next. That’s what I enjoy most about content creation, and it’s what convinced me that I have the personality, creativity, and work ethic to continue growing as a creator.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been navigating the negative side of streaming, content creation, and the GTA FiveM roleplay community. Early on, I didn’t realize how far some people would go to damage someone else’s reputation or interfere with opportunities they had worked hard to earn.

I invested countless hours into building my platform, especially during the early days when I had very few viewers. As my audience grew, I experienced situations where people spread false information about me, attempted to damage my reputation, and created obstacles that affected potential opportunities. It was difficult to understand because I’ve always tried to stay out of drama and focus on my own content rather than involve myself in conflicts within the community.

One thing I learned is that when you create engaging storylines, people naturally become invested. While that can be a positive, it also comes with challenges. Some viewers became so attached to certain roleplay storylines that they reacted negatively whenever I chose to take my content in a different direction. There were also times when people formed opinions or organized criticism based on incomplete information, often taking roleplay at face value without understanding what was happening behind the scenes.

Those experiences taught me the importance of maintaining professionalism and protecting my peace of mind. Rather than engaging in unnecessary drama, I chose to remove myself from situations that were unproductive and focus on creating the best content I could for my community. As my platform continued to grow, I realized that increased visibility often comes with increased criticism, especially in the GTA FiveM roleplay space. Learning to stay focused despite that has been one of the most valuable lessons in my journey as a content creator.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m best known for creating funny TikTok clips from my FiveM roleplay streams and livestreaming on platforms like TikTok and Twitch. One of my greatest strengths as a creator is developing memorable, dramatic characters that take viewers on emotional roller coasters. I’ve always loved storytelling, and I naturally enjoy making people laugh, so creating entertaining moments comes naturally to me.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the growth of my platform—it’s that I’ve stayed true to myself despite the negativity I’ve faced along the way. As I’ve grown, I’ve also outgrown certain groups and environments that no longer aligned with the person I wanted to become. I’ve never felt the need to fit into every trend or social circle, and I’ve become comfortable with that. Instead, I’ve focused on building a genuine community that supports me no matter what direction my content takes.

Over time, I’ve realized that I want to grow beyond the FiveM niche and explore my full creative potential. My passion has always been storytelling and creating compelling, character-driven content, and I’m excited to discover new ways of bringing those ideas to life.

I think one thing that sets me apart from many other creators is that I strive to stay grounded. I’ve seen creators achieve success and become disconnected from the people who helped them get there, but I never want to lose sight of how fortunate I am to have people spend their time supporting my content. I don’t take that for granted.

I’m also naturally more introverted than many people expect. While I can be outgoing when I’m performing or creating content, I recharge by spending time on my own. My experiences throughout this journey have taught me the importance of protecting my peace and being intentional about who I surround myself with.

One challenge with roleplay content is that viewers sometimes have difficulty separating the creator from the character. Many of the characters I’ve portrayed make questionable decisions or have values that are very different from my own, and at times people have assumed those fictional personalities reflected who I am in real life. That’s one of the realities of content creation.

Lately, I’ve been making an effort to show more of who I am outside of my characters. I’m a layered person, and while it can be challenging to share more of yourself publicly, I believe authenticity is one of the most important qualities a creator can have. My goal is to continue evolving while staying true to the person I’ve always been.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that might surprise people who know me through my content is just how private I am. Most people know I keep a small circle, but in reality, that circle is incredibly small. I spend much of my time by myself, and I’m very intentional about protecting my peace and being selective about the people I allow into my life.

In 2026, I learned more about myself than ever before. I’ve never been as comfortable with solitude as I am now, and I’ve also never had a stronger sense of self. Spending time alone has given me the opportunity to grow, reflect, and discover who I am outside of content creation.

I think people sometimes forget that streamers and content creators have lives beyond the camera. Viewers see the entertaining moments, but they don’t always see what it takes to create those moments while you’re dealing with challenges in your personal life. There are days when you have to show up and make people laugh, even when you’re carrying a lot yourself.

I’ve often felt misunderstood. Some people only see the entertainment I provide, while others focus on superficial things like my appearance. At the end of the day, though, I’m just a person, and my life isn’t perfect. Like anyone else, I’ve experienced disappointment, betrayal, and relationships with people who didn’t have my best interests at heart.

Those experiences taught me the importance of protecting my boundaries and being thoughtful about who I trust. I’ve learned that not everyone who wants access to you has good intentions, especially as your platform grows.

Being a private person also comes with its own challenges. When you choose not to share every detail of your life, people often fill in the blanks with their own assumptions or create stories that aren’t true. I’ve learned that I can’t control what people say or believe. What I can control is how I carry myself, and I choose to let my character and my actions speak louder than the assumptions people make.
