Today we’d like to introduce you to Elle Anderson
Elle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I initially started creating content professionally in college (The Ohio State University) as a way to earn income as a student without taking too much attention away from my studies. As someone who has always been artistic and creative, this was a relatively easy way for me to earn an income.
My major at OSU was Animal Science with a minor in Biosciences, which was intended to put me on track to attend vet school. After applying to vet school my first cycle, I unfortunately did not get in. After my graduation year, I also got married and bought a house, so my goal was to work as a Veterinary Assistant until I could get into vet school.
However, life quickly changed for me, and I realized that while my dream was always vet school, I had many other passions I wanted to explore before committing to becoming a doctor. After many trials and errors with different jobs, I began creating content again, reviving a hobby that once provided me with side income. This is when I realized that content creation not only gave me a creative outlet but also the freedom I had been searching for in a job.
Over the past six months, I’ve had the chance to meet so many amazing individuals that I never would have encountered had I not ventured outside of my comfort zone. I’m still figuring things out—being only 24 years old, I realize that it’s normal not to have everything “together” by the time you finish college. I’m also grateful to my husband for always encouraging me to follow my heart and being my biggest cheerleader. Without him, I don’t think I would have found the courage to leave a traditional working environment to forge my own path.
I’m looking forward to what the future holds and couldn’t be more excited each day to continue doing something I love.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am a firm believer that anything worth it will not always be the easiest thing. It is through perseverance, grit, and passion that good things are able to grow and be maintained. Creating content is definitely not easy, especially when you have a highly critical eye for what you create. There are times when my business proposals get turned down, videos I’ve spent hours working on don’t perform as well as I wanted them to, or even dealing with a creative block.
Through all of the struggles, I understand that consistency is key. Had I given up the first time things didn’t work out as planned, I definitely would not have grown to the level of skill I have today. It’s insane to me to see the difference between the things I created six months ago and what I create now!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in mainly content creation and also offer social media management as well. For my own personal content, I create videos in the lifestyle, fashion, beauty category, but do not restrict myself to a specific niche.
I am most proud of my ability to adapt and change the way I create content based off of the feedback I gain from my social media metrics. As I mentioned earlier, when I look back at videos I created 6 months ago, I am amazed at the difference in quality.
I think what sets me apart from others is my personal style of creating along with my ability to tailor content created for each client based on their own personal “vibe”.
