Daily Inspiration: Meet Darren Lorenzi and Marcus Alan Ward

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darren Lorenzi and Marcus Alan Ward. 

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We are a film production company that specialize in narrative and commercial content. We have known each other since college but started working on projects together as LDC in 2018. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are no smooth roads in the filmmaking world. While we would say we are fortunate to not have too many struggles, we would say the hardest thing is always aligning visions with other collaborators or creatives, and making sure that the heart of the story is upheld. 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Our company Long Division Creative specializes in making thought-provoking films across various mediums. We are most proud of the narrative work we have done like our award-winning sketch DIET BLACK and our upcoming short-film ANCESTORS. One thing we really strive to do is put the art over the commerce of film, focusing on how to tell a story in as beautiful of a way as possible. 

What were you like growing up?
Marcus and I (Darren) both come from a music and art background, so we both enjoy creating and absorbing art, it’s at the heart of everything we do.
